  1. Yep. One of the earlier batches I actually butterflied meaning I cut along one side of the spine so that they would lay flat on the pan. I like them better this way (folded over) and I only pull out the spine before eating leaving most of the tiny rib bones in. Smmmmmmmmmmmmmmmelts, are a yummy snack.
  2. Was going through the freezer and found some Smelt from last spring. Realizing I will be getting more soon I decided to eat them up. Excellent. I sprayed the baking sheet with PAM and seasoned the Smelt with Onion powder, Garlic powder and pepper. Let's go net some more Rod Caster.
  3. Way to go. I'm going to try a lake near my home town. Lived there for 20 years and never fished it when it was open.
  4. Ummmm those are windows Nick, and you're a peeping tom...lol. Just kidding. Theses clear cold nights are great for seeing the night sky.
  5. Yep I learned that this year. I could get 4-5 hours with my HDS5 on the ice. I ajusted the brightness lower but not as low as it would go as I couldn`t see the screen well.
  6. Pretty sure our member sandybay is Jeff Chalkley. PM him. I have read his posts on other forums and he is always a big help. Lots of good fishing on South Shore and Jeff knows the area well.
  7. Stupid question....but....are the dandelions out down there yet? I have always been told "the suckers run when the dandelions come". At least in North Bay anyways.
  8. PM me with your questions....I have connections
  9. That is a decent shore pike to start the year.
  10. I understand all of those great points. It is designed to be rowed..and for stealth fishing..but I still want to try and pimp it out.
  11. Gonna try on the back bar Bill. My old MinnKota 28lbs has a telescopic hande so I'm thinking it will work. More worried about the battery weight. Got a picture of yours? I'd love to see it.
  12. Gonna Try Simon. Want to put a plank across the front for my old Humminbird Wide 100 and a rod holder so I can troll.
  13. Congrats Rob. Keep wetting that line.
  14. I'll loan it to you a few times.
  15. Hey buddy, Congratulations for you and your fiance.
  16. Ya but no carp here guys. It is an easy 3 hour drive in good conditions.
  17. Have a great day Beans.
  18. 592 pound Blue Fin Tuna. It is the ONLY way I will ever be worth $736,500 U.S.
  19. Says it is not rated for a motor but I'm thinking a piece of 2x6 held on by u-bolts will change that. Battery is tougher though. It will hold 350 lbs. I'm 180lbs so with 28# thrust min Kota and battery I can still do it.
  20. Picked this up off of kijiji today here in North Bay. It has the oar locks but they were not in the pictures. Sells for $365 + taxes at Canadian Tire Kenai but I only paid $95. Woooohoooo! Anyone have one of these? Best part is...seller told me 2 excellent pike/walleye spots where he has used this that I never knew of. BONUS
  21. Dan, there is nothing wrong with a 1995-1998 F150 with 250,000+ kms. Skinny, you will find something for $3000.
  22. Ya I get 40-42 mph alone in my boat on a calm day with a 90hp. Max out at 38 mph in a chop with another person in boat. My guess is that boat is rated for up to 115hp so a 90-100 would match it well. I just searched Ontario kijiji and CAN'T BELIEVE the asking price for 17' Aluminum Starcraft packages. I remember researching mine and it was rated really high in the US as a utility boat. Wide beam and deep hull is good for rough water. Mine has live well up front and a split bait well in the back. One thing I miss is the rod locker was removed when the boat was re carpeted. Does that boat have the split transom (tree is blocking the other side)? Mine is designed to fit a short or long shaft kicker.
  23. Randy, That is a nice little boat package. I have a 1993 Starcraft 170C Walleye Edition with a 1995 Yamaha 90hp on it. It came with 1 old fish finder and a 36 lbs. thrust motorguide cable steer bow mount 2 batteries, and some gear. I got itfor a "friend price" and I would think yours should be a bit more then mine. That boat is 2 years newer, has the down riggers and is in better condition. I think a fair "friend price" would be $4000 - $4500. On the market I figure he could get around $6500 - $7500. You should be able to get $2500 for yours.
  24. I saw a little sunfish (bluegill) this morning.
  25. I PM'd you about a I-pilot kit for your Terrova.
