Ryan have some older fly gear here and haven't used it since I was out west 12 years ago. Lets hook up and chuck some flies. PM me and we can go give it a shot.
Ya it is the same kind of hut. That is my buddy Bertrand (he is on OOD Community forum and icenews.ca). He got a few perch today, a nice 30" pike, and a herring.
we got skunked in 15' of water but BassAssassin still jigged up 4 walleye (no keepers) in 35' of water. Really????? March 9th and the walleye are still in 30+' of water. Not in the last 17 years have I seen a season soo strange.
You mean drainage holes like this?
Here is where my hut was. These are my 2 inside holes and the back one is for my minnow motel.
Here are close ups with my size 11 boots as reference.
Still lots of ice out there.
The Emrod looks cool. It is modeled off of the Stub-Caster from the 60's -70's. The videos seem like it would work well off of shore. I have seen them advertised on kijiji.
60hp - 90hp is a big difference compared to 15hp -20hp. My starcraft is rated for up to 115hp and I have a 90 on it. I would love to have the 115hp even if it is heavier and uses more fuel. I need to get off the lake in a hurry sometimes and Lake Nipissing can get dirty.
From what I have read....the maximum hp is "reccomended by the manufacturer".
I had a buddy buy a 15' Legend at the boat show last year and he asked several "experts" at the show about HP rating. He ended up pairing it with the maximum rated hp.
Maybe Craig Ritchie can comment for us?
There is alot of info on the net that argues both ways.
Lilly pads, docks, floating dock, structure....I don't fish bass much but wow. I'd start with the hollow area to the immediate left. Hit the edges of the lilly pads first then flip under the dock edges.
