  1. Thanks guys, was much needed for sure. Hopefully that's lots (not lost, lol) Rick.
  2. It's been over a month since I got out with my bud Rick and his son G. During this time the two of them have caught some pretty nice fish (see Team 7 and 1 discussions) so with some "fancy footwork" on my work schedule we squeezed in a Sunday morning troll. Didn't take too long to get into our first two fish, a 26" laker (caught and released by me) and a 6 lb coho that G brought in and donated to me, Juli and family. Thanks for giving me first shot at the rods buddy!! That was a first for me. I always let Juli, or a friend, go before me. Pics of my laker and G's coho Took awhile to get into fish #3, what we are pretty sure was about a 15 lb Chinook, spat the hook 50 feet from the boat. This was followed by another shorter wait after which Spincast caught and released a chrome post-spawn bow, skinny as can be, took off like a bullet on the release. We didn't bother with pics on that one. The rest of the morning was spent trying to get my second fish, missed a couple quick strikes, then finally got one on the old Shimano Corsair and rigger stick that I got from my dad years back. Never landed a fish on it yet, not that it gets used much, and this fish felt like it had some guts!! Just as the words "I've always wanted to land (fish comes off) a fish on this combo :wallbash: It was a tough go out there, but, we all landed one had a good time, and, didn't get the thunderstorms called for earlier. From radio talk in the area even the charter guys were struggling, so, we had nothing to be ashamed of. Ironically one spoon in black/orange iridescent took all the hits, but, two. Yes, Rick, I'll keep my eyes open for a few of those for you!! Here's a couple more shots of the morning. Unfortunately we didn't have our photo-queen with us, but, for once Rick and I actually made a bit of an effort, lol. Thanks for having me out guys, after another crazy week at work, if sure felt good relaxing with a good friend and a remarkable young lad We'll definitely get Juli out on the Canada Day weekend (if not before) to celebrate the end of my Sunday work days!
  3. Great report, I read it all too, nice pics. Sounds like a great way to spend a weekend.
  4. Marty vs Quick, bring it on!!!!
  5. Nicely done Will! The eyes were definitely still up in the shallows those days.
  6. Oh yeah!! Juli said "it's a good thing we just ate before you showed me that or I'd have to gnaw off your arm". LOL
  7. From what I've seen this year, definitely the team to beat. Would love to see Brodeur vs Quick.
  8. Darn Bob, you had my hopes up there. For a second. Thought the whole franchise was moving to Toronto I'd love to see the NFL here.
  9. Cool stuff, bud! That crappie is wicked!
  10. Nicely done, Simon!! Definitely a good feed there.
  11. Juli wants to know where your Team 10 sign was
  12. Yup. There was (is??) a special Tyee club, that was reserved for anglers who caught a salmon over 30 lbs, out of a non-motor powered craft (canoe, row boat etc.)
  13. Saw it at the drive-in Sunday night. Didn't get the 3D there (obviously) but was still a great ride.
  14. There is no difference. Think Rick just uses the term King for the larger specimens. Chinooks are referred to as Kings, Springs, Tyees etc, out west.
  15. Are you talking about the lures choice? Juli already mentioned it, and I figured the handshake and thanks at dinner covered it.
  16. Great stuff Rick!!! Glad to see you hit some big Chinook finally!!!
  17. Awesome G. You are kicking button!!
  18. Just got back from the drive-in. Video turned out pretty darn good Dan! Hitting the sack, off to work for a late morning start tomorrow.
  19. Great company, amazing weather, it truly was a fantastic day! Yeah, the fishing was tough in that area of the Bay (5 charter boats, not one landed more than one walleye) but, it truly was a day where the fish were just a bonus. Great group of friends to share laughs with!! The money went to a great cause, and, looks like I succeeded in giving my "fishergirl" a great birthday gift. Always a pleasure fishing with buddies Dan, Vince and Lloyd!!!!
  20. Cool video, nice dinner
  21. Thanks for the report, and, way to pass on the love for fishing
  22. Great report, and some beautiful Simcoe lakers!
  23. Sounds like a great start to your season Chad!
