  1. From what I saw on the news it was just a complete hide that had been gutted totally.
  2. Two bugs...
  3. I could do that one for you as well.. .but you could just look in front of you!
  4. Paid the dealer PDI... take it back !
  5. Spring might be here..
  6. Yah... you should be able to get those down the street at Brofascoe.. or Fastenal, although they may have to order them in for you.
  7. They are called Well Nuts... or rivnuts... another option would be some HD toggle bolts if you truly can't access the spot. Glue ain't gonna cut it... www.spaenaur.com/pdf/sectionC/C147.pdf
  8. Guess it couldn't have got freezer burn in a snow bank....
  9. Why I asked how "off the grid" he wanted to be. The main problems these days... unless you find an existing rural property with livable building... there are way too many mandatory items you must have to meet the building code and to obtain a move in permit to live the "old fashion" way.
  10. Yep.. cut blocks of ice out of Glamour Lake.. loaded the shack beside the barn and covered them with sawdust and prayed it made it through the summer as their fridge! Loved it there.... but not sure I could do it after the spoils of current life! lol
  11. My mother lived off the grid most of her young life and my Grandmother for most of her 80+ years... as did many members here parents / grandparents I'm sure. All depends what you expect in your "off the grid". The only reason my grandmother ever had power was Ontario Hydro wanted to take a shortcut with poles, to get to Little Glamour Lake, and she allowed them to run across her property. Even with power we still had to fetch water with a rope and bucket from the hand dug well and put them in the pantry cupboard... to hand scoop with a ladle for a glass of water! My Aunt bought Gramma an electric stove one year.... had it wired and I never saw it used. Wood fired cook stove.. nothing else was ever used to cook or for heat for that matter!
  12. So you're an army brat Matt.. that explains a lot! This sounds like a flash back to '86 for me... the past is the past... tomorrow is tomorrow and you should be at your fathers for Easter Monday! Hoping both that you get it figured out.. and your father does his best with this beast.
  13. The chair looks comfy! lol
  14. Hope it was no one you knew...
  15. Look at the second picture and see where the sign is...
  16. Yep.. and Roy seems to have his finger on it in advance as usual !
  17. If you're not careful ANYWHERE along the East side of Georgian Bay you'll find rocks! .. and knock on wood I've never dinged a prop in the 32 years I've been boating it. Now on the other hand.. my F-in-law was up to 5 lower units and 13 props back when I stopped keeping track in 2000 !
  18. Fillet.. coat and deep fry and they taste like any other fish. ...but because many can't seem to tell the difference between a large herring and a Whitie.. maybe they should go with Option #2
  19. Will.. record all your phone calls with the insurance company. Tell them you are expecting a full claim cheque for hull and losses to the full value (why I have agreed value!) of your insurance and that you expected it a LONG time ago. If they wish to retrieve the boat and then go after Tracker then that is their issue.. not yours. If you had hull coverage on the boat, then no matter the deal they have to pay out. I can't see them wanting to spend the money to have divers find the boat.. retrieve it and get caught up in any environmental fines they might end up with this far after the fact for not retrieving it earlier!
  20. He has too... he's so close to the tower it's all he gets on his TV !
  21. Oh my... it's the 15th bud!
  22. What do I think... Are you not driving already!
  23. Over 6" of new stuff in the yard.... still old stuff as well... and still coming down. Daughter took 25 minutes just to get to Midland this morning and turned around, vs driving to work in Barrie, as they hadn't even plowed hwy 93. Hope I don't fall on my 19 foot walk to work!
  24. I'm still trying to figure out how, in our system, he found two doctors in as many days.. ... Usound.. CT..... all depends on how it was done and from what angle etc. Same reason they have a 10% "error" allowance for measuring cancer tumours on growth and shrinkage. .. and what TG said, be glad it was found and it's being treated and move on.
  25. Maybe if they keep jumping around they'll speed up open waters arrival !
