  1. Like everyone else, I'd rather pay nothing... but the 10 grand in parking + somewhere around 60 to 70K in other uncovered drugs is a far cry from a guesstimate of about the 1.7 million that Jen has cost the tax payers of Ontario so far for chemo, surgery and radiation. If we would have been in another country this would have been totally out of pocket. I think our system works pretty darn well for the pittance that we get dinged for in "Health Tax". Of course I had a much different view on life a short 5 years ago....
  2. Whine all you want guys.. I've paid over 10 grand in hospital parking the past 5 years. A piss in the jar compared to being state side. The father in law had a pineapple tree spine in his hand in Florida... they took his credit card before they would see him in emerg and it cost him $3785 to be seen and just tell him why he had the bump on his hand. If he wanted the surgery to remove the thing it was going to be another 4 or 5 grand, so he came home and had it done for free. Vision Care was dropped from OHIP at least 8 years ago, probably more.
  3. Don't get too far ahead of yourselves... it (at least the new Zone 11 regs) started on Lake Temagami over 15 years ago because a cottage association lobbied the MNR to keep people from fishing in front of their places when they weren't around. There was no science involved... the lake hasn't been stocked in 30+ years and there's nothing wrong with the natural reproduction. Unfortunately the MNR took the most restrictive regulation from the areas they combined, when making Zone 11, and made it stand for the entire area. For those in the Haliburton highlands... be sure it's science that is pushing this idea, as sometimes it's just smoke and mirrors.
  4. April 18th to May 9th, 2015 Noticed their "magazine" was at the Beer Store today. Wasn't all I picked up, but just an FYI about the 31 page booklet on what's going on and some local shops deals during the contest. This years Adult grand prize is a Lund Rebel XL Sport with 50Hp Merc, Lowrance locator, Bow Trolling motor and custom trailer.
  5. I certainly do..... the secret is to have the contract BEFORE the dollar drops though and it pays your overhead. Even without that advantage, it brings the manufacturing back to Canada... but may be too little too late with everyone that was "major" pretty much gone. Now that I'm pretty much out of the automotive side... airplanes on the other hand are totally based on US dollars and I can't wait to see 70 cents and finally be able to list some stuff for sale again that I've been sitting on, that would have been a major loss to sell at par. As for Loblaws /Shoppers, as noted it's a merger. Already more stores than Tim Hortons. I really hope they are hiring, but is it just a smoke screen with "part time" jobs?
  6. I honestly can't wait for a 70 cent dollar... I really miss those years!
  7. I can't quote Bruce.. but yah roundup probably was delisted... I'll have to walk out to the shop to see what the two new 5 gallon jugs are called that replaced it. Yellow instead of blue... same stuff...
  8. Friggin Rubin... not half the man he use to be, or at least when you take a picture anyhow! lol Looked like a good time away from reality... and Bernie a long time away from his razor!
  9. Any farmer in Ontario can get you some round up. Issue with it.. it kills what is currently green and something else takes it's place, but I guess anything is better than Scotch Thistle. Be spot on with the application as it kills the grass as well.
  10. The bad thing about them is they spin.. not so good on a recirc pump!
  11. Well it's all about volume and somewhat about pressure... If you are currently plumbed from the get go with 1/2" and you split that off to the cold as well at the hot water tank.. your flow is pretty restricted after that. Cold will flow better than the hot ever so slightly due to the added tank restrictions. Generally the correct way to to it is 3/4 to just before the cold inlet pipe on the tank and then 1/2 from there to feed the cold and same coming out of the hot water tank for a balanced system. Volume of the 3/4 pipe split into now 2 x 1/2" pipes. I like the dirt blasted off me... so I did mine with 1" from the well tank and then 3/4 once it splits at the hot water tank... with short branches to sinks at 1/2. I also have a 1/2" hot water recirc line or I'd be waiting a long time for the hot to reach the tap. If it's easy to do, I'd start with upping that feed from tank / street outlet to the split at the hot water tank to 3/4". As for Pex over copper... I'll take copper every day of the week. Pex is used everywhere now as nobody could afford to do a new house in copper anymore.
  12. And the neighbour is wondering where his ladder went!! Let me know when you want to sell that sled....
  13. Wish the one I had in the hangar a few winters back would return.. and clean out the current resident rodents again. Nice shot!
  14. You buy peanut oil by the 45 gallon drum Emil?
  15. Looks like Ottawa found the Leafs playbook for tonights game...
  16. Nah.. it'll puddle real nice and self flood itself for next week for some nice smooth ice! Minus C every night and same for all next week.
  17. "Could have easily broken thru the ice and drowned" and there they are simply walking on the broken chunks from the tug! Doubtful... he almost made it .. lol
  18. Good to see Terry has a rear tow hitch... he can do the wagon train from now on! lol Oh.. and you blew a ski pulling a smitty, there's something we've never seen ! lol
  19. I would.. they allow 10% occupancy for "seasonal" residents, have for a few decades... you just have to contact the park warden.
  20. Hated my parents for that one too Cliff! lol
  21. Yep... I'd have very little issue with many things they charge people with, if only they followed the rules themselves. This one pulled out of "Bernie town" in front of me last Feb in Fog you could barely see the nose of your truck.
