Guess you don't pike fish much... Them rocks get warmed by the sun and well Pike like to suntan in the spring! If you can't fish for pike with a spinner bait.. what should we use to appease?

Just another screw up from when they combined the old zones! I could always fish Pike on Temagami when we got up there on Mother's Day.. can't anymore and have to wait now. Guess they figured it was a way to know if someone was fishing they were breaking the law.. but they forgot about Whitefish being open all year!

The whole thing's a crock... it's no more dangerous TALKING to someone on your cell phone than it is talking to the passengers in your car! Texting... if you need to see the keys... is a whole nudder story similar to playing with your GPS!

Just like Troutjunkie... be the 3rd Saturday as an opener for me.. .and it looks like I may even get to the lake for same.... Fishing it daily until October!! (if I bother to get out of bed!)

If you don't stay on site long enough for them to circle the entire shoreline.. you may always think the lake is empty. We've been into the same stocked Brookie lake... Winter and Fall.. many times and only had two occasions where they were "on". They're still there even though we caught squat!

Get a can of liquid rubber (sold for coating tool handles and such).. put some in a plastic dish and just dip the salty until it's the thickness our like. Me personally.. scratches on the reel just mean you're getting out!! File.. I like the dual file sold my Rollie and Helen's Muskie shop. It's just two files in a single handle strapped together at the end. Works well with a couple passes and you're done on both sides!

I can tell you that the owners are some nice people, but have no intel on fishing the lake.
