I agree. This is a great show. I cant believe how fast the first few guys quit. I would think that $500,000 would really motivate you. You can really tell that the isolation is getting to them now. Its going to be interesting seeing how long they can last. I think that Alan will last the longest unless the young guy can find another food resource.
  2. Awesome. Great advice guys. Having a soft plastic ready to go for when you miss a fish sounds good. Thanks a lot. This is a great forum with so many knowledgeable anglers.
  3. I love to fish top water for bass early in the morning. The anticipation of a fish coming from below and exploding out of the water to smash the bait is almost addicting. Lately I have been using Live Target Frogs a lot because I love that they are so weed less that you can basically throw them anywhere and not get hung up. But, because they are so weed less I have been having trouble getting a hook in to the fish. I have been trying to delay the hookset a little bit so the fish can fully take the frog but its hard to do when the fish hits and you get a ruch of adrenalin. My question to you fellow anglers is do you have any tips when using these live target frogs that would result in hooking more fish? Thanks
  4. I noticed this as well on Sunday while up at Georgian Bay in the Port Severn area. The good news is that the water level seemed to be up quite a bit from last year but the water was still very cold. The usual spots around the boat slips where Pike have come into spawn previous years showed no signs of fish yet. It looks like it will be a late spawn this year. With that being said the forecast looks promising for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully it will warm up the Bay.
  5. Fishing on the ice listening to the Jays game is a beautiful thing.
  6. Thanks for your reply. I left him a message today. Hopefully he will get back to me in the next couple of days.
  7. Does anyone now if they are open for ice fishing this year? I've been trying to get a hold of them for a couple of days with no success. Do they have an email address or phone # only. I have heard good things about this place and am looking to plan a trip up there this winter. Thanks
  8. Does anyone know the results of the island lake tourney last weekend? I fished the tournament on the Saturday but not on Sunday. Just curious if anyone knows the size of the fish that won. Fishing was tough on Saturday for me. Caught a 1 pound Bass but that was it. Weeds were really thick.

  10. I have to agree. This is my favourite fishing show to watch right now. The host (Cyril) is so passionate about fishing and seems like a nice guy. Great show.
  11. Tough one bud. Keep your head up. Take joy in the memories and how happy your dogs life was because of you.
  12. Crisis averted. We found some. Thanks anyways guys
  13. Hey guys. I'm heading up to kapuskasing at midnight tonight and I was just informed that the guy in Kap that usually has minnows doesn't have any right now. I know its last minute but does anyone know of any places that have minnows near kapuskasing. We are driving overnight so it would have to be somewhere near there because of the time. Any help would be great. Thanks
  14. Fish are never guaranteed. What species are you looking to catch?
  15. Thanks guys for all of the replies. You have given me piece of mind to go through with the order. Its going to take up to two weeks to be delivered but I'm in no rush. Heading down to Varadero for a week on Saturday. I'm going to fish the Canal behind my resort and possibly some surf fishing. I'll post my results. Thanks again for your help.
  16. I Have a lot of money in gift cards to Bass Pro Shops that I received over the holidays. I am looking to purcahse a pop up ice fishing shelter with theses gift cards. I want to get the Eskimo Quickfish 3 but when I went today to bass pro they didnt have it and dont carry it. They did have a nice Frabill pop up for $249.99 plus tax. So I went online and I can order the Eskimo and have it shipped to me in Canada for around $250 incuding tax, shipping and exchange. I want to pull the trigger and get the item shipped but im afraid that when it arrives im going to be stuck paying a big duty charge thus making it not worth it. Can anyone that has shipped from Bass Pro to Canada in the past please tell me if they had to pay duty on their purchase? Should I just go with the Frabill to avoid the headache as they do look very similar and the Frabill uses a 900- denier skirt as apposed to the Eskimo that uses a 300-denier skirt? I have read and heard a lot of good things about the Eskimo so I was planning on buying that one.
