Holy Crap! That's a nice buck! Also quite a bit of damage to your truck, wow! A few years ago, I used to work afternoons. Got off at 11pm and was driving through Victoria Harbour, heading home. A deer ran out in front of me, so I slammed on the brakes and thought to myself "Holy crap, that was close", just as I said that...BANG....another deer runs into the side of my door and puts a massive dent in it. Unbelievable....ONE WEEK LATER....driving down one of the concessions after work, going to light a cigarette and I see a deer running out...I guess I was close to the shoulder and moved the wheel a little and it caught my wheel and I went head on into a tree at 80 k...truck was complete right off. Thank god for seat bets, I still have the burn mark in my work jacket from that accident. Unbelievalbe.

Good luck to all, I've been out a few times with my bow....only chance I had was through 10 feet of brush, there were two does staring at me, couldn't see their bodies....no shot...what a rush though!! Be safe everyone and enjoy the time in the great outdoors.

That's funny I talked to a CO up in Nakina this past September about the fishing for Musky with a Conservation License and he was the opposite of him, just goes to show the different interpretations...They've got a huge area to cover and I'm glad that they are all over the place.... I hear ya though, I wish there was more of them as well...

Nice report IF...good job on the ski' Me's thinkin' that you and Bruce need to sit down and have a chat...get all of that hostility out of the way....

Great report! I'd like to get involved in the hatcheries around here, but I'm not sure they exist anymore.

Awesome pics Brian. I love viewing pics from trail cams. Too bad mine was stolen this past year, after only a couple of weeks out:( If GB can get to me, he can borrow mine....for a hefty price:) BTW, thanks for posing that question for me last week Brian.

Andy....my Doe last year, 20 yards away, slug shot, double lung shot and destroyed the heart, thing still ran 50 yards and stood there for a while wondering what just happened:) My bull last year, 250 yards with my 300 Win Mag, double lung shot, decided to go swimming in the water after the shot, got him turned around in the middle of the lake by firing two shots near him, swam back to shore, stood up and dropped. I've seen moose drop instantly, deer drop instantly but not really that common....

My Great Dane just got sprayed last week in my backyard and ran through the house, I was in the same boat as you. Use 1 quart of peroxide and 1/4 cup baking soda, add in a little bit of dishsoap or dog shampoo, not much though. Make sure you keep it out of his eyes. You've gotta do this relatively fast because that is oil that they've sprayed and you don't want it to soak in. I washed my dog entirely in that solution, and rinsed him thouroughly and then rewashed him with dog shampoo and the smell was completely gone, unbelievable. As for the house, open all your windows, front and back and let the air go through the house. Mix a minimal amount of javex with water in a spray bottle and spray around the house. Go to walmart and buy "Odourout", place one in each room and within a day, all your smell will be gone. Hope this helps, just did it last week and it worked.

Beauty! Way to go, I've been out a couple of times this year with no luck

GB's correct. Last two years at the Trout/Salmon derby has been a disaster. We're talking guys with years of experience fishing these waters and not getting any. Two years ago, top rainbow was 2.9 pounds for 800 bucks, second was 1.9 pounds for 500 bucks and 3rd was .9 pounds for 300 bucks, if you can believe that!!! Biggest salmon caught was 8 pounds and only two others caught out of 66 boats. Terrible.

They are illegal for turkey. You are allowed to use them for Deer and Moose. The Johnny Stewart ones are great, as ch312 stated. I just recently started using them for predators, anything from an injured jack or cottontail...however...I bought some new hand calls for the rabbits and they are absolutely amazing. If I had the extra money laying around, I'd buy the Johnny Stewart.

Good job Sinker! I just picked up my new Savage xp10 Predator .223, heavy barrel, specifically for Coyotes! What a beauty gun, sighted in today and I am very impressed with it! Open all year around here!

Wolf's Den just near Barrie is only 220.00 for both, only a Sat and Sun, but they are very long days and well worth it. I took it there in the spring and they were great.

Excellent point, I must say. While I was up moose hunting a few weeks ago, there's a place where there is a logging road and there is to be no motorized vehicles used at all. The hunters at the camp a few miles down the river were up near this place, walking and they saw 6 natives with pickup trucks (6) coming out of this road. They stopped, and every truck had a bull in the back. A short while later, the MNR came by and spoke to them after the natives had gone. The MNR passed them on this road and did nothing. The hunters asked the MNR why they didn't stop and question them and they said to them, "It's out of our hands, there's nothing we can do". 6 men, 6 bulls, no tags, no rules. I was still happy to end up coming out of that area with my first yearling bull weighing 900 pounds. What a rush. However....coming out of that area and looking forward to an 18 hour drive home...on the dirt roads we HAD to put the tarp over the bull and the bear because of the dust...but because the weather changed and it went from 3 degrees to 18 degrees, we had no choice but to take the tarps off to expose the harvest and keep them cool. Do I feel bad that someone didn't like seeing the moose and bear? Not at all, because it wasn't about gloating, it was about trying to keep the meat cool. Now the cutting the head off and displaying it on the roof, etc...that's something that I wouldn't do, but I do understand the excitement and the need to want to show people what you have accomplished. Here it is:
