remember, the guys on LSC typically run tiny/light pulling baits by muskie fishn standards. you'd be able to pull super shad raps, woodies, small jakes & believers but I think the 10" models would be too much. the 10" believer pulls pretty hard and would just suck those boards right back. never hurts to try.. boards are a pretty good tool even if you dont get to use them for muskie fishn. the offshores seem to be favoured by many.

i think as you cross the french r. bridge heading north, they turn into pickerel.

my rods are scattered over ontario so that nobody may know the true nature of this obsession (even me) i think i'm in the 20-25 range 8 or 9 of which are muskie sized.

i dont know what you mean by 'big' lures but if it's what i mean by 'big' lures then you will not find a inline board that will work - you'll need a mast setup. the drag of the lures is far too great. gimme an example of what you're planning to troll behind the board.

my #1 fave spot:

there are many sites out there that are members only like you suggest where people may be more likely to share a little more information. even if someone joins, administrators may prune people who don't contribute. perhaps join one - and that's not meant to be mean spirited. this site is what it is, and many people, myself included, have stopped going into detail because of this and other issues.

..and if they are messed up look up heli-coil but i'd recommend if you're not experienced you have a machine shop do it.

bass fishing and riding mopeds have a lot in common both can be fun but you wouldnt want your friends catching ya. i'd probably fish bass if the season opened earlier.. but with muskie opener occuring 1-3 wks before bass, it's tough to psyche myself to fish after 20" vs 50" fish.

why would you keep a fish when you can't properly ID it? what if it were out of season?

the two rods i compared in my hand were the 8'6" XH premier vs. the 8'6" "bulldawg" legend rod. Both had 7000s on them and I noticed no appreciable weight difference. i use the 8'6" XH premiere for dlb 10s, 13s and 16s but lures are homemade & typically bigger than the store bought "cowgirls". the store bought stuff i toss on a 8' premiere. matt i also have that 8'6" okuma XH and while it's a good rod, the action is a little too slow for blade baits (IMO - i like the fast tip of the st. croix). it does make a great twitch bait, bulldawg etc rod. bill, i just wouldnt be able to share smurfette.

i splurged on a pair of costa del mars this year - never did i think i'd spend this much but i'm real happy with them and they are certainly head & shoulders above the 'el cheapos' i've been using in the past.

matt i've seen and played with one this year and unless you are getting a great deal on the legend line, stick with the premiere. there is absolutely 0 justification for the extra cost of the legend other than to say "hey look at my fancy smurf blue rod - my gear's better than yours". st. croix has a 8'6" premiere that will do the same job - it's a great rod and holding the two in either hand, you will not notice a difference.

go to a store, pick em up and see which one feels better to you. i bet it'll be the st.croix. warranty shmarantee. just my opinion

I was just uhh.. confirming the rumours. Could be worse, it could be a Miata. I'm teasing, I've owned a AWD/Turbo before and even if yours is non-turbo, you will love it. It will go places in conditions you'd never expect.
