  1. lol you'd be better off starting with a block that can handle FI better than a honda though
  2. here's a twin turbo'ed Merc for ya Kemper
  3. kemper the verado is supercharged. same idea; just belt driven instead of exhaust driven like a turbo.
  4. i find it funny (ironic?) that yamaha went with the american model of "no replacement for displacement" while merc, with the foreign model of power-adders (superchargers) in order to make more power.
  5. true enough andy, it's been 44 deg for two months now lol
  6. Bill Hamblin made some interesting points re: fishing bait in the musky hunter's almanac. Basically he said NOT to fish it or fish outside of it. It's a very good read. Bill fished georgian bay but I'm sure it applies anywhere.
  7. if the staple is not holding the wound closed (ie. there is an opening) get it restapled/stitched. while it will eventually heal, it will scar badly. never had staples but i've pulled stitches out on my own.
  8. bowfin = don't eat ling = eat
  9. Costa del Mar Harpoon with the 580 copper glass lenses. best shades i've owned. fairly certain these are Rxable copper/amber are the all round lenses. grey/dark are for really bright days/open water. yellow for low light.
  10. dont forget to breathe underwater
  11. meh... so so buddy.
  12. indeed. thanks for that Spiel. however, we do see lake trout and pike coughing up them alewives on a regular basis on the eastern shore.. they're still here.
  13. if its any consolation, the american engineers don't do a much better job. the interior would look similar on my jeep if i had to replace the core.
  14. most muskie fishermen.. we cut hooks to release the fish and rarely lose a lure to a snag. i've a 'top-secret' jerkbait that's had it's hooks replaced many times.
  15. i like eagle claw Roy, but they only go up to 5/0. Mustad for everything else, usually get them at JBs locally.
  16. i'm not familiar with float rods but if the tip is anything like a regular rod, i'd just take it into a decent tackle shop, pay $5 to get it replaced. 5 mins and it's done. unless you are missing a few inches.. then please disregard.
  17. it pays (& works) driving an older jeep with a few 'character' marks that could use fixn on the dime of those who cut me off, use onramps to pass, merge at the last possible moment, etc. they ALWAYS back off.
  18. winterize wayne? there's still several weeks of good fishn will be out on the bay till we have to break ice.
  19. i have their 7' MH - which, unfortunately, isn't one of the rods listed on sale. i have an old curado 201 on it and pretty much only use it in the spring for pike but it's a good little rod. if i ever bass fished, it'd see much more use. it's very light, i've not had any issues and have caught several pike over 40" on it.
  20. Urban Fisherman, check out this link http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=59068 He used to maintain a site called FYST - Fight Your Speeding Tickets, I am not sure it's up any more but the link provides some good info re: what you might expect. Fight ALL your speeding tickets!!
  21. tell ya what danc, since you like clouding issues not to mention getting personal the self righteous down here in southern ontario keep their opinions re: scheduling hunts out of the north and the self righteous from the north don't tell us how to drive. the 401 is NOT hwy 17/11. common sense tells us to drive according to conditions, an icy road means we slow down. a dry, sunny day means the average speed of people travelling on the 401 is 120. that's just the way it is. if you're going the limit, you're a hazard. if you must know, i've been driving for nearly 20 years. not a single accident where i was at fault (been rear-ended). i think i am a pretty safe driver. you can come out of your cave next time i'm up in NW boemfook.
  22. not 'speeding' may be well and good in north west boemfook but on the hwys around the gta, you become a hazard not going with the flow. imo.
  23. the snowy island pic rocks!!
  24. i have two sets of wheels, 15" and 16" 235/70/16 & 235/75/15 is what I run on them. I believe that's about a 29.
