Bernie's post got me thinking. (ya ok so that is rare)
jimmer replied to Big Cliff's topic in General Discussion
I went back to school in the early 90's when I was in my thirties to change careers due to a severe back problem and self employment not working out the way I had hoped. I have worked in the Social Service Work field for over 20 years now and I want to retire. LOL I might have been better off taking an education in a different field, but that's the decision I made at the time. I had no problem finding employment at the time, but that is changing as I get older. The field has been good to me and it helped me pay off all of our debts including our mortgage, but I'm feeling I need a change again. I wouldn't have a problem with just my homestead needing me and my attention on a daily basis. I'm ready for the warmth of the south in the winter and there are so many lakes that I would like to fish before I'm gone from this earth. I have looked into going back to school to learn another profession, but something is holding me back; maybe it's the uncertainty or that my wife only works 3 days a week and we can't survive on her income alone. How would he prove to the CO that he harvested dead fish and it wasn't alive when he grabbed it? There are no grey areas.

A beautiful looking fish! Congrats to your son!

Okay, I admit that I'm not very tech savvy. But I have a question for those that administer this site. Is there not a way for the site to automatically adjust the size of the photos like it does on facebook? I might be way out there but loading pictures onto facebook seems so easy compared to fishing forums. What's the difference? Why is there a size limit on this site?

That's what happens to players who spend anytime with the Sens!

It's the locals fault - no it's the tourists- the locals- an ongoing debate. Too sad that the ones who abuse the lakes don't get it.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing!

The politicians always try to down play the threat, it's part of it that I won't be taken in by.

I agree with Fisherman. They (WHO) made such a big deal about sars, yet they let people travel in and out of those African Countries with a simple questionnaire. Ebola kills most, so hopefully the vaccine works.

Do you cut them off for hors d'oeuvres Mike??? LOL

Maybe the pike are grabbing the bait before the smallies have a chance to decide whether they like the bait.

General Managers are their own worst enemies!!!!!! No wonder guys sign in places like Tampa, Nashville, Carolina, Columbus and Ottawa, they get oodles of $$$$ thrown at them, with no real expectations.

Sounds like they need to start planning the parade in Ottawa!

Go to Hay Lake. I love Bark Lake, but not an easy lake to fish for just a day. Hay has some good smallies in it.

This was a surprise last minute catch. Amazing what will hit a muskie bait trolled at a higher speed.

Those buggers can be tough. Fished all afternoon yesterday and we had one bite. This was it and it happened to be on my buddy's birthday. A smaller 35" fish, but at least we caught one. I never had a bite.

I would take the toilet off again if I was snaking it.

I couldn't believe he was fined either. The OPP officer drove us crazy phoning our house looking for him. He was fined weeks later once he finally called them back and arranged to meet the officer in the middle of the night on the way home from work. The officer handed him a ticket at that point; I thought he was going to get a warning. Hey, he deserved it and I had been warning him about being respectful of others on the water. However, is this the way the justice system is going; anyone can call in and complain about someone else and a ticket is handed out?
-
Not true Sinker. My son got nabbed for acting like an idiot on a jet ski, someone called in to complain, the officer tracked him down and handed him a $615 fine. The person that complained said they would be a witness if he tried to fight it. He ended up going to the JP to get it reduced. Hopefully my son has learned his lesson.

I have that happen at my house, but I'm on a well with hard water. It is calcium/lime build up and from what I saw was just on the vertical pipe below the toilet. I don' think that there is anything that can be done to prevent this, because pouring something down the toilet would just get diluted and flushed past the build up. If you have a long horizontal run, you can cut the pipe to have a look-see for any buildup there and then just put in a coupling to repair the cut you made. There could be a leak in your toilet flush valve causing water to constantly run into the bowl then into the drain. Do you see movement in the water of the bowl after your flush has finished and the tank is full? If there is movement, then you have a leak.

You have them dialed in!
