  1. losing 70 home runs is a scary thought. Agreed that the union had something to do with his stance.
  2. yep, EE and his agent blew it. I would fire that agent. How can anyone need more than $80 million. Yeah, I know it's about the market and all that, but there comes a time when a player has to stand up for what he truly wants. He always said he wanted to stay in TO and at his age, he should have grabbed the $$$$ and stayed here. Bautista will probably get a year or two somewhere else for less than he expected. However, it's the sport world and crazy things happen every day!
  3. Nice of you to keep a cool head through this
  4. Yes all boats were purchased by the other park and will be rented out as usual. Maybe a little less access to the lake now, unless renting one of the boats.
  5. ^^^^ people make mistakes when they're young, get hooked and can't get off the crap. They can still be contributing community members if treated.
  6. All these little things build up and have an impact on people who live on a fixed income. (not just retired people, but people who don't make much and never get raises).
  7. There is still a trailer park on the lake that bought all the boats from the closed park. They will be the only access to the lake (other than N.A.W's) and will rent pontoons and 14 footers. That access by the curve in the road has always been private, people just used it. It will probably be closed off to the public.
  8. I am a support of C&R but also a supporter of filling my belly YUMMY. Pike are the perfect fish for doing that and are prolific enough in those sizes. We can be our own worst enemies sometimes. Those pet@ people must just love it when they see outdoorsmen arguing about harvested fish.
  9. Maybe he's having a bad day?????
  10. There are some great videos if you google to see how to clean and remove Y bones. I never have bones in the pike fillets I eat. My wife would have my head if she found a bone.
  11. ^^^^ I pickled walleye one year and it was gone in a flash, so I'm sure pike is the same. I try not to judge people when they are within the regs. It's is tough at times though. So, it's best to look at it from many points of view.
  12. Temagami is always a good bet, but also look at Bark Lake (Sunnyhill Resort). However, that's a deep lake and has trouble freezing up if the temps are not cold enough. The bonus is the huts are about 50 yards out from the amazing cottages. There are lakers, large pike and walleye along with some whitefish.
  13. I use P-Line on all my reels that don't require braid. Mainly Floro clear for summer applications.
  14. They were asleep last night, just like I was after two periods.
  15. I always found that braid froze up on me and gave me problems if outside in the elements. I use something called floro ice by P-Line for pan fish.
  16. LOL, probably would not complain about fish. Yes, Old Ironmaker that's true.
  17. So, I went to one of the local grocery stores yesterday to buy my lunch from the take out counter. There was a sign put up that says drinks are no longer being included in the meal deals because of new government rules. The price of the meal deal didn't go down and now the drink is priced separately. I asked what that was about and was given the explanation that the government was missing out on the taxes from the drink. My colleague then asked where the usual pre-package coleslaw was that was in small containers (yesterday's coleslaw from the deli counter) and was told they could no longer sell it like that because the nutritional value was not listed on the package. Another government initiative. Don't get me wrong, it is a small amount of money, but adds up when looking at the differences over the whole year. I feel like the next time I go in there, they will be telling me what I can eat on that specific day to make sure I'm eating healthy and paying my fair share of taxes. Whoa, it's amazing how one can get worked up over such a small thing. Thanks for listening!
  18. Geez, I just drove by there yesterday afternoon.
  19. ^^^ I might try for panfish on Scugog. Just because it's close. Walleye was shut down last winter and there were still people fishing.
  20. The lower end of Pigeon Lake froze across last night in many places, probably opened up again though.
  21. ^^^^ LMAO
  22. I don't like the back door deals they make that causes an increase. I don't believe a word any politician says.
  23. Yes it was an inland lake. We caught them on twister tails with a bit of worm following the shore. Seems like it happened weeks ago with the change in weather.
  24. A buddy and I took advantage of the weather yesterday to go after some Rainbows. Got lucky and landed two for the dinner plate, which I am quite looking forward to (beautiful orange meat). I lost another one and had two other follows. Only two bass were caught. I guess I will be putting the boat away this weekend. :-(
  25. I'm with you on that one Beans, except for the 2015 year before he got hurt.
