Boat/Motor service and/or repair recomendations
jimmer replied to Beans's topic in General Discussion
You can check out Walsten Marina south of Kinmount. They deal with Yamaha engines. -
It looked like a golden retriever mix. Had that face. My son said he would have went in, but he's impulsive and I have warned him he is going to make a mistake one time and it's going to cost him. He's 27 though and strong as an ox.

Hey Cliff; have you checked out the Good Food Box through Community Care in Lindsay. Everyone can buy into this, just call 705-879-4100, they have regular veggie/fruit boxes that are much cheaper than the store. You just have to pick it up at the designated site.

Thanks for the support guys, was kind of feeling guilty. I didn't recognize the dog, but we do have some new people in the area. I will probably find out quickly of its fate once the last bit of ice melts away.

So, I was watching my sons dog for the weekend. They called and said they would be by in about an hour to pick her up. I took her out for a quick romp down by the lake. She is just a little chug and likes to bolt around like a spitfire. I was watching the geese on the ice and then noticed this other dog looking at me from a hole in the ice, I could tell it had been trying to get out for a while and was completely exhausted. Seems like the ice just kept breaking as it tried. I quickly tried to prompt it to keep trying, but it could barely move. I grab the little chug, ran to the house and put her inside then ran to the neighbours for some back up before I grabbed waders to go after the dog. Sadly. I got back to the lake and the dog was gone. I don't know if it got out or went under after a last struggle. I keep seeing the dogs face laying on the ice with its sad retriever face and wondering if I could have done more. I keep thinking I should have just went in and grabbed it, but I have serious back issues and the last thing I needed was to get stuck in the mud and ice in our bog type frontage and not be able to get myself out. That's was my Sunday afternoon, should have went fishing somewhere.

Nice, thanks for sharing.

I don't need one of those to catch fish!

Watch one of the sports shows and they showed quite a few recent clips of Polak running guys into the boards from behind. Seems like they reviewed his penalty history before giving out the suspension.

Well, they were prepared for a rough game and they came out on top. However, Andersen seemed to be the one that was there best player again.

Just need to be prepared for a physical game and they should do okay.

I don't really have any destination suggestions, but I think May is early for any places north of you, I would go mid June. Give the walleye time to recover and go on a good feed. Have you looked at Temagami? Ton of fish in that lake. I have a group that goes into Quebec the first week of July and we always do well, might have to fish harder some years but can always figure them out.

Who are the good defensemen that are available in the draft this year? Are there many? I haven't been following junior hockey. The leafs don't need to make the playoffs, I think they will get the higher intensity experience they need going down the stretch. Me thinks Lou wants them to make the playoffs though.

A buddy of mine soaks his in apple juice and soya sauce, some spices and a little sugar and it is delicious.

Yup, that's the downside of a young team. :-(

It's usually a great machine, but I guess the blowing snow must have frosted up somewhere. We will probably run it for awhile after stopping in the really cold weather to help dry things up in the future.

That's good to know. Celebrex tears my stomach apart and it's supposed to be the mildest anti inflammatory.

Nice story, but hard to make that one look bigger when it's in his hand. LOL Glad you caught some for the pan.

It was interesting to read Manitou's results of the topical usage. I might have to look into that for all my arthritic joints (no pun intended). Would you get this through the route you took? How long did the relief actually last? I have no luck with anything that is out on the market for topical application.

You have Georgian Bay just north of you with huge pike and muskie. Not secluded, but the best bet for a trophy close to you. I actually don't know of any secluded lakes that fit the description you are seeking. Welcome to OFC!

Suzuki. Pretty sure a sensor for the fuel pump frosted up.

Well, a friend's son was asking all week about fishing on Saturday. I kept telling him that I wanted nothing to do with a windy day out there on Simcoe. He texts me on Saturday morning asking when we're leaving (LOL) and that his dad would also join us. Not sure what went through me head, but agreed to go. We didn't get there until about 10:30 and the wind was too bad. Headed out and got two huts set up. Fishing was slow, but we got into a few. Then the wind picked up and we had to batten down the hatches. Went to move the ATV and the darn thing wouldn't start. We continued to fish, wondering how the heck we were going to get back in, caught a few more fish. Tried the ATV again and wouldn't start; it was flashing a fuel injection problem. We decided to put one of the huts over the ATV and get it heated up. 1/2 hour later it fired up, we kept it running and packed up and headed in. Not a nice place to be when the wind is at 25 km. However, I got to enjoy this on Sunday while remember the adventure of a couple of crazy guys.

What kinds of fans are they if they jump all over the team if they go through a rough patch. They are band wagon fans, not true fans.

I get the first couple steps wrong.

I was out on one of the kawartha lakes yesterday. Over 12" of ice. Just have to be careful around any areas that might have been hit with runoff (shorelines) or moving water.
