  1. Way back when when I was young and frequented the bars in Toronto. I took this beautiful young women out on a date and we decided to go to the Gasworks. I had this wonderful 1970 Monte Carlo (not so nice), but it was mine. We had a great time, can't remember the band, but it was loud. I was parked behind the bar and when it was time to leave, I back out of the spot right into the block wall behind me. I'm wondering what this chick thinks of an idiot that can't even back out of a parking spot; I thought I blew this one. Well, we have been together for 38 years. Moral of the story, my wife likes guys that can't drive. LOL
  2. Thanks for the reminder and tips!
  3. It's always funny how everyone looks at their team with rose colored glasses!
  4. It might have been a released pet.
  5. I know you said it's NF, but I was out fishing some heavy cover for bass this summer, hooked onto a good one but it was buried in the rice. I proceeded to grab my rod half way up to yank it out and ended up with a three piece rod rather than a one piece fave Shimano rod. I have never done that before! I'm sure I have other stories that will come to me.
  6. Do you take the row of bones out of the fillets? What's the best way to remove them?
  7. Sweet sled.
  8. One loss to the Sens and the season is done? We know the history between the sens and the leafs. It will be the leafs on top next time.
  9. Well I went against my advice and fished Pigeon on Sunday. I didn't get the boat out to go to another lake so we settled on Pigeon. Fished from 9am -4pm. Never saw or had a hit from a muskie. We used surface baits, cranks, jigs and numerous types of spinners. I did get a largemouth on a spinner though. LOL
  10. Take Pigeon off your list. The fall is very tough fishing on that lake. Not to say you won't hit a good day, but the other prospects are a better bet. Sturgeon for sure from what I hear.
  11. The parity in the league can sure remind some teams they aren't so great. (Oilers) They should rebound though. The Habs are another story.
  12. Last time out fishing my buddy and I were talking about how many rapala cranks we had and how few fish we catch on them. I have luck on the shad rap and some older wooden models, but that's it. LOL The same with reef runners, I went out a few years back when we were fishing Quinte often and bought a bunch because everyone raved about reef runners. I have not caught a fish on a reef runner. :-( The rapala price sure doesn't make them attractive and either do these reports.
  13. Those are some nice looking smallies! Thanks for sharing your success.
  14. Gardiner drives me crazy too. He has obvious skills, but me thinks there is a gap in his head somewhere.
  15. They get you one way or another if you want the service. We in Canada sure get the short end when it comes to communications!
  16. I'm with Headhunter - I never get too excited after so many losing years. Yes, the Burns era and Quinn era weren't too bad, but still nothing to show for their efforts. Like HH said - only an injury or two away from some struggles. Go Leafs Go!
  17. Took the day off work yesterday to hit a small lake in Haliburton County. This was the first time I fished this lake. I had a buddy in my boat and another friend was out with his buddy. We were the only two boats on the water. Made a few quick cast off the launch, but decided it was best to scout out the lake's shoreline. We identified one end of the lake as the best bet after trolling a little (caught one smallie trolling). We ended up catching between 15 and 20 bass for the day. All the largemouth, but one were caught in the same location on wacky rigs. The rest of the shoreline looked awesome, but just wouldn't produce. I did catch 2 more smallies by trolling the open water, which I find successful at this time of the year. I know it's not the usual way to catch bass, but it works when you get tired of casting. All in all it was a fun day on the water.
  18. Cliff: Please accept my sincere condolences! My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
  19. So sad!
  20. That's what this site is all about! Thumbs up to Fisherman. Keeps everyone connected.
  21. SO cool! One lucky lad to have you as his father!
  22. Yikes, I think I was close to that when I discover that the two switches in one box were on two different circuits. My wife freaked on me when the sparks were flying, I was lucky. Not funny. :-(
  23. That would have been my first guess Old Ironmaker, if I hadn't change the darn thing last year and the plugs were working. I guess I have now learned the lesson.
  24. I looked at some in use boxes for the GFI, but have decided to make my own cover which will give me more space to access the receptacle.
  25. Just wanted to thank Cliff for the use of his circuit tester. It turned out that the GFI is no good. Both plugs worked and the GFI worked, but it was not putting out enough volts for the load connection. I guess I need to add some protection from the elements. Just want to thank everyone for their input.
