There is also some ice on the kawartha lakes right now. Might affect your launching.

Orange Pumpkin all the way, a discontinued color of Root Beer was also very good.

Well, I think he might be part of the parade committee. LOL

What about the Muskoka River?

My understanding is that there is a social aspect to the migration from any given lake. One adult male stays back on the lake until the chicks of that year are ready to go. Can't remember where I heard that, so It's probably incorrect. LOL

I think you have to wait for the real bad weather or fish at night. I tried it a number of times and did not have much luck in the fall. I participated in a meet and greet there through another forum and there were only two fish caught all day by the same boat. The fish are there, but tough to get them to bite. We witnessed one of the local netters pulling a net up and there were a good number of walleye in it. The exact same place we put in some significant time. I have had friends pay a guide and not have any luck either. However, I'm sure someone has success or anglers wouldn't keep going there.

I just made one of my best Pizza's ever, accidentally
jimmer replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
Old Ironmaker this response should be in one of your past threads. I went on a hunting trip with a group of guys that I didn't know that well, but was invited. This was years ago. I jumped in to clean up the kitchen after dinner and proceeded to clean the cast iron pan....oops.....that didn't go over too well. LOL Will have to try the new pizza procedure though. Thanks for sharing. -
Yes, ask for the moon if you want out!

It's always good to trade players that are not happy where they are. Both players should see a resurgence. That is until they meet the Leafs! LOL I always liked Duchene, even if he is a little soft.

It's a nice way to end the year. I always look for a natural fish on that lake to see if there is any spawning success, but what you say sounds right.
-
Not sure they even spawn on that lake and it sure wasn't the right kind of bottom for spawning. Maybe they are going through the motions of a spawn. They are all stocked fish in that lake. Chuck-My buddy is always amazed when we catch a trout. LOL

Most of the kawartha levels are down at this time of the year. I was on that lake once and it scared the heck out of me.

Just have to find the lakes with an year round open season (probably none in the Barrie area though). It's so nice to be on a lake and not see another boat.

It's amazing how everything comes together sometimes. A buddy and I planned to go fishing on Wednesday. The weather forecast wasn't the greatest, but looked the best for the foreseeable future. We hit the water at about 9am and were target fall bass. They seemed to be in the mood for playing and we probably boated over 30 bass in the day. Nothing huge, but lots of fun. The largest was probably around 2 pounds (don't think there are many larger ones in this lake). There was a bonus though. The lakers seemed like they wanted to join in and we boated 10 of those. We caught a couple of those in under 8 fow. The rain even held off for most of the day. Our go to bait was a jig with a white twister tail. We did get a few bass on a drop shot, but the jig was doing the trick. We're running out of time for the open water, so get out there and take advantage of the awesome bite.

OHIO - I did catch a bass on a muskie spinner on one of those previous outings. It actually seems to happen often; the bass have bigger eyes than their stomachs.
-
Over the last couple of weeks I dedicated 2 full days to muskie fishing. I had a follow/hit in the first 1/2 hour of one of those days. Never had another bite or follow. I went out for about 1 1/2 hour on Sunday for bass. Decided to flip some milfoil for bass and ended up catching a muskie on a flipping extreme craw. Go figure, I catch one fishing for bass, but can't tie into one when targeting them.

That fish looked a little large to be going down that guys throat. We all have to be diligent around fish, algae and weeds. I'm pretty sure there was a local man who died about 15 years ago from an infection he contacted on Sturgeon Lake in the Kawarthas.

Who in the heck would want to play under that microscope???? And they think T.O. is bad. Hero to zero in a year.

I'm looking at doing some work to my sleigh so it's easier to pull and will carry more. Saw this one and figured this one would fly with all those stickers on it.

Way back when when I was young and frequented the bars in Toronto. I took this beautiful young women out on a date and we decided to go to the Gasworks. I had this wonderful 1970 Monte Carlo (not so nice), but it was mine. We had a great time, can't remember the band, but it was loud. I was parked behind the bar and when it was time to leave, I back out of the spot right into the block wall behind me. I'm wondering what this chick thinks of an idiot that can't even back out of a parking spot; I thought I blew this one. Well, we have been together for 38 years. Moral of the story, my wife likes guys that can't drive. LOL

Thanks for the reminder and tips!

It's always funny how everyone looks at their team with rose colored glasses!

It might have been a released pet.

I know you said it's NF, but I was out fishing some heavy cover for bass this summer, hooked onto a good one but it was buried in the rice. I proceeded to grab my rod half way up to yank it out and ended up with a three piece rod rather than a one piece fave Shimano rod. I have never done that before! I'm sure I have other stories that will come to me.
