  1. I won't stop until I figure it out.........or Big Cliff does.... LOL
  2. Ouch!
  3. I got through to them today.
  4. The receptacle is working fine, but maybe water got into it and effected the power out to the fixture. Guess I will find out tonight.
  5. I'm having trouble getting through to this place to get some minn kota parts. Anyone have the inside scoop on whether they are still operating. I know it was recently sold but I understood it was going to operate the same. Can't get through on the phone and no reply to a message sent through their web page. Thanks,
  6. Did some more investigating last night and found that there is no power and it might actually be hooked up to the GFI on the opposite side of the house. (someone was right) The next step is to pull that and have a look. I had changed that GFI last year though. Mike's suggestions were very helpful, but still not comfortable with a multimetre. Couldn't get a steady reading on the 200acv setting. I just hooked up a fixture directly to the wires in the switch box to determine no power, but determined the wire between the switch and fixture was good using ohm reading.
  7. These stories drive me crazy! Not a nice feeling walking down to your boat and it's not there.
  8. Not much is washed up from the lake Sterling!
  9. Well, I couldn't get near that spot on the weekend. I get the sense people watch me with binoculars. LOL
  10. Hey Cliff: I don't check this site over the weekend. Sorry about that and thanks for the offer. I was going to try reading it tonight after work. I have checked all my GFI's and they are working. I will touch base with you Cliff if I can't figure it out. The part I don't look forward to is trying to get into the attic if it's determined that it's the power wire. LOL, I wish it was that I didn't pay the hydro bill. I really appreciate everyone reaching out to help me. I hope I can repay it in the future.
  11. I think it's a pipe dream to think that they will build parking lots, install fences and floating docks to deal with this issue. As much as that makes sense (it's a good idea), I would be surprised if the municipality made an investment like that. Much easier to just shut it down.
  12. Thanks Michael: I will see if I can work through this. And thanks for the offer, but my neighbour is an electrical contractor, I just hate to bother him until I can't fix things myself. My wife would rather me call him first.
  13. Cool, I can feel the arms burning.
  14. It's sad that it's come to this. They say they can't afford to police the littering issue, so how are they going to police the no trespassing. Too bad another shore spot is going to be lost and this will be the beginning of more closures. It only takes a few to ruin it, but this was more than a few at this spot. It seemed like everyone just left their crap after fishing.
  15. Ottawa looked like they were playing for the Stanley Cup in that first ex game. Just caught them off guard. Regular season is al that matters. Leafs still need to work on sorting out the D.
  16. Two white wires in a wire nut and the two black wires go to the switch.
  17. I checked the outside GFI, which was replaced last year and seems to be separate and used all the time.. I'm wondering if it is connected with the GFI in the washroom which is old and is fairly close. I will let everyone know what I find.
  18. The trick is finding which circuit it is on without being able to see the light go out when shutting the breaker off. There is power going to the switch (never mind how I know that), I now shut the whole house off when dealing with that switch which is a double one, but each switch seems to be on a different circuit. I thought about rodent damage, but the length of wire from switch to fixture is like 6 feet, but probably the problem. Hate to have to open up a wall to get at it. Multimetre at the fixture is the next step. Thanks,
  19. I know this is a stretch without seeing the wiring, but thought by throwing it out there, something might click. I have an outdoor flood light that has been there for over 30 years. I just recently replaced the bulb and it was working fine until the other day. I checked the bulb in another socket and it worked, so I thought it was the fixture, which I replaced and it still didn't work. Next, I replaced the light switch and it still doesn't work. Any tips or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim
  20. NICE! That would be so cool to catch one of those.
  21. That's funny. Vegas put the leafs at 16-1 odds and Ottawa at 25-1 to win the cup. Matt you put way too much into shooting down the leafs! What did they ever do to you?????
  22. Calling for hotter weather on Saturday and Sunday!
  23. The first thing I would do is call work and let them know I'm done immediately. I would probably even throw a few dollars their way. Then I would start looking for a new place farther north and somewhere in the south for the winter months. Buy a new truck and boat and then share some with the rest of the family. All dreams though!
  24. Yes, it's mind boggling. I hadn't done well with surface baits unless it was in the evening, so it was strange to see midday surface bites.
  25. Too hot for either. LOL Yesterday was quite hot out on the water.
