  1. It should be called Scotiabank's Customer Arena, since the funds are coming out of the pockets of all the people who bank with them. $800,000,000? MLSE is doing something right! Maybe it's a good move now that they will be one of the better teams in the league.
  2. I paid $300 a bush cord this year and go through 3 a year. You might be talking about a face cord Old Ironmaker. It is definitely getting harder to find a good source. They like to short change you through the length of the wood or including crappy wood in the mix, that happened to me last year buying off Kijiji. I think if you find a good place it will be $350 a bush cord, but better than being short changed.
  3. Thanks so much for all the input. I will stop in at an Apple Store if I can find one close, because I never get the message of no storage available with the same number of photos. Sometimes I get it with 15 photos and other times with 50 photos.. However, I also think Lape0019 pegged it with the size of the ios and it was updated recently. I had the "keep normal photo" turned off. I guess I will just have to save the pictures then delete them. It's just nice to keep a few on the phone so I can share with others.
  4. I think that there might be something wrong with the phone. I only have 120 mb showing for photos, messages, contacts, mail and apps. Yet it says 6.1 GB is used. I always purge my messages.
  5. Hey Terry: I only have the apps that come with the phone and I keep everything to a minimum. No songs. Really just the basics so I have a phone for emergencies and I thought pictures.
  6. The problem is that most won't share one of those fragile smaller lakes that are in the Haliburtons. The best bet is to identify which lakes have walleye and then go and explore. You might have to go a little further than an hour from Peterborough.
  7. I have the 8gb and it holds less that 40 photos at times. One time it said storage was full and I only had 14 photos. I guess it is what it is. Thanks guys!
  8. It seems like there are a lot of techie type people on this forum. I was wondering how many photos should an iphone 4 be able to store without a data plan/icloud?
  9. That's very true AdamW.
  10. It was something special!
  11. I have tried Stoney in the fall and found it to be a tough lake. I feel the population on Little Bald is pounded during the winter and spring. My bet would be on the Otonabee. Just my thoughts though.
  12. I had a chance to get out on Sunday night for about two hours before dark. I had planned to drift around casting crank baits, rather than battle the rice fields. I caught a few, but they were smaller fish. I could see the rice and it seemed to be calling me. I caved and headed over to a patch that I had not fished much this year. I had a frog and a fluke tied on. I wasn't getting any action on the frog, so stuck with the fluke. I headed into the thickest stuff and everything went crazy. Had a hit almost every cast; they were chasing the fluke even as I was lifting it out of the water. All I would have to do is drop it back in and wham. Even had a good size muskie chasing the thing around. Lost count of the number of fish I caught, but it was one of those nights you get every once in awhile. Nothing huge, but always fun when something is pulling. Sorry no pictures.
  13. http://www.kawartha411.ca/2017/08/24/deadly-highway-507-identified-by-opp-as-hot-spot-for-motorcyclists-who-like-to-speed/ A follow up article to that crash on highway 507.
  14. Thanks for the ideas guys!
  15. I just checked it out and will probably place an order at some point to see what they are like.
  16. I will double check that, but I usually back with mono, then tape with electrical tape.
  17. Just wondering if anyone has one of these bait casters? I noticed mine started to slip the other day when I was hoisting a bass over the side. I have the drag cranked right tight, but it slips a couple of feet when lifting the fish. It doesn't do it all the time, but starting to bother me now. Any ideas of what it is? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim
  18. Probably one of the best roads to ride on, but some guys just drive way too fast.
  19. Another sad story of a bike accident.http://www.kawartha411.ca/2017/08/21/update-3-people-dead-after-motorcycle-crash-on-highway-507/
  20. Smart choice Peter, now forget about one of those darn jet skis, especially on Pigeon Lake; we have too many already. LOL
  21. I tried to google that place to find out the exact location, but limited info. I think those places are a tough go and very expensive to operate. Let us know if you find out.
  22. People are pissing me off. How are fisheries ever going to be conserved with people like this abusing the lakes. These are just the ones that get caught.
  23. Pigeon Lake Resort (North End), Camp Ashtabula (Mid-Lake), Fees Landing (South End)
  24. Yeah, I fished there years ago and stopped going because of the crap show. Just wish laws would be enforced so they don't take opportunities away from the ones who care and abide by the regs and treat the area with respect.
  25. I have been asked this question by many friends who are in their fifties with the same thoughts as you. I always say DON'T DO IT! I have other friends that have been riding bikes all their lives and there is no changing them (until they have a close call). Get a classic car and tour the back roads in that! You will get more looks with one of those and your wife will be way more comfortable. No need for new licence or paying the high insurance costs associated with a motorcycle. I have seen too many people's lives changed because of a motorcycle accident, not because they are bad drives, but because of the other bad drivers on the road.
