  1. A great season for sure! You've got a great looking family there bud. Cheers
  2. Great recap! Seems we almost crossed paths last month. Talking to Paul we missed you by maybe 5 minutes.
  3. Agree with Chris about Ramsey. Once you get past Cat bay at the top end of the lake there's very few people. Big beautiful lake with good walleye fishing although it seems to be more seasonal. June is prime time... If it's just you and your son you may want to consider a fly in out of Chapleau. You'd likely be surprised how affordable it really is and the experience is worth it. PM me if you want details.
  4. Franson on first pairing tonight. Fraser and Ranger being paired together? We're doomed LOL!
  5. Bring more when we return to the Sutton next summer. They're better than currency. .
  6. Yes and no. I called MEC to see if they could help facilitate a return to Thermarest for repair. They checked my file to determine I had indeed purchased it there, then told me no problem, come down to the store with your old mattress and we'll give you a new one. Thanks Brad, you're a peach.
  7. I have to chime in. You just reminded me of something I havn't thought of in almost 30 years. Grade 9 science class I made a working model of a volcano using paper mache some paint and a similar concoction of chemicals. It was supposed to just smoke a little bit, but, "more is always better" has always been my mantra and I stuffed that volcano full. When I lit the thing it literally did erupt. Someone sounded the fire alarm and the entire school was evacuated LOL! Good times, good times.
  8. As mentioned and it's worth repeating, MEC's return policy is the best I've seen at least as far as Canadian retailers go. The 5 dollars spent to join the co-op is well worth it.
  9. It's a co-op. That 5 bucks gives you a lifetime membership which is a small price to pay as far as I'm concerned. Personally it's one of my favorite stores, they have outdoor gear that no other store carries. Best part is their return policy. Much like Cabelas in the States you can return anything at any time no questions asked. You don't need a receipt either, they just look up your purchase using your membership number. And I'm talking returning stuff after years of hard use. Within the last year alone I returned an 8 year old Thermarest mattress that was starting to leak in the seams and they gave me store credit to buy a new one. Same thing with a 3 year old MSR water filter that broke after heavy use last spring. I walked out of the store with a brand new one. It's pretty obvious I love MEC. Great store, great products and amazing customer service. Easily the best 5 bucks I've ever spent.
  10. There's been a lot of negativity this season with the Leafs. They've been decimated by injuries, have been consistently outshot, everyone seems to want drastic changes.... Yet their record after 31 games this year is exactly the same as it was last year: 16W, 12L, 3OT, 35PTS This will be an interesting week to say the least, here's hoping they rise to the challenge.
  11. I'm pretty sure the entire lake doesn't have 5" on it.
  12. Sweet buddy, I'm in! And if I win it's on me. By who and regarding what? LOL!
  13. My post went wonky. If someone could fix it I'd appreciate it.
  14. Hey gent's, hope all is well with everyone! I haven't been posting much in recent weeks, but for good reason, I've been averaging 4 days a week on the water the last month or so. Things are slowly starting to wind down for me now as it gets colder (my old bones can't take it). When I get the chance I'll post a few highlights, it's been a remarkable fall season. Anyhow, onto the reason for this post. For those of you who enjoy river fishing for anadromous fish you will love this video. Truly amazing place. Not quite sure how, but someday I'll fish it.
  15. For what it's worth I researched floater suits to death last winter and ended up buying the Arctic Armor jacket and bibs. The big difference between Arctic Armor and other brands is they're so thin and comfortable to wear, 10X more comfortable than any other product on the market imo, and also incredibly warm. If I wear anything more than a base layer under this suit I sweat. I got the camo version which also has a soft outer finish unlike any other floater suit I've seen. If you're still undecided you may want to check them out. http://www.profishingsupply.com/arcticarmor/aa_camo_suits.htm
  16. Bah! Save yourself some gas, launch close to home and practice reeling in a drift sock. Same experience.
  17. I agree with everything Shane has said, not much more I could add. Except for this, it seems appropriate LOL!
  18. Temps look fine, but they're now calling for wind gusts up to 65km/hr, yikes! If Burris is on his game and protects the ball we'll have a chance, GO CATS!
  19. Agreed, and exactly why the consistently high shot totals aren't much of a concern.
  20. Doug, consider these for sitting in a tree stand. They're amazing. http://thermosoles.com/?gclid=CP2JyZ23_boCFbBAMgodbE4A_A
