    Possum

Sounds like a cool pet, beats a coon for sure
  2. How was the ice? Also, what side of the Lake did you fish. Thanks for any info.
  3. Not much use going out of Beaverton too early in the season for whitefish. The ice is usually iffy out to the North end of the island. We also travel from the Kawarthas and we go to Jackson's Point or Willow Beach. Parking is free as we park in the town lots or on the shore. Email me and I will give more specific info. 4. Just to be on the safe side, I better cancel the plans for buying a new boat. I won't need two of them, lol.
  5. Talk about a stroke of luck eh? Nice job on the gobbler
  6. I guess the morale of the story is, it hurts to own an evinrude????
  7. Good old Cronzy. Like he says, fish keep him thin. I say, more fish please. Never tried his coating, but this year for sure.
  8. That's a great looking portable. Bet you have a lot of fun using it.
  9. I have an 07 Honda 400 and have had a hard time starting it since new. I have to prime it in cold weather and still keep the choke part way out to keep it running until it warms up. Just had it's second oil change and they don't use synthetic oil. Will replacing it void the warranty?
  10. Get him a helmut ! He may want to go with you, lol.
  11. My wife is a pro photographer and swears by Nikon, but myself, being an amateur, prefer a Canon EOS 10D Great pictures, never had a problem with it and have had it for years.
  12. Who else could tell the Police, who are investigating a crash, to come back later, I'm tired??
  13. Looks like a Coyote looking at a field mouse.
  14. If you have it, someone will try to steal it. Any marks or whatever on the motor so it can be recognized? Or maybe a photo.
  15. Maybe you have bad luck with new ones. Or maybe you just don't look after them? They all need repairs and up-keep. But the new one looks good. Hope you have better luck with it.
  16. Same area as end of last winter. Same spoons or jigs and work them the same way as through the ice. That will give you a start. Watch for the city of boats and fish close to them, they will be over the schools of whitefish. You can also use live minnows on a spreader, but let it sit on bottom for a count of three to five, then lift gently, if you feel the fish, set the hook with a short set, not too hard as you will rip the hook out. Sometimes this works better than the spoons or jigs. Hope this helps. Keith
  17. Those look like pine morels to me. They are delicious. Soak them in some salted water for a bit to get any ants out. Fry in butter until the start to crackle, (after all the water cooks out).
  18. Great post, wow to the pics. That fish plant sign, does it say how deep to plant them? Mine never seem to grow, lol.

  20. Is there supposed to be a link on this thread? If so, I don't see it.

  22. I just clean the smelt, if they large I also scale them. Take the head off and dip the smelt in pancake batter, then deep-fry. Easy and tastes great.
  23. Better to use a rope on the ice for towing. Too darn hard to cut the chain if towed truck or whatever goes through and starts to pull you into the hole!
  24. I don't see any registration numbers in that pic. But I do see a couple thieves trying to make off with what they shouldn't. After all, poaching is stealing, and they are stealing from the rest of us.
