Do yourself a favour if your a noob go do a boaters course at one of the clubs little bit more money but you can get the exam in with the course, and it puts 2 and 2 together Just Saying Peter

its truly sad really, all the big predators are being slaughtered wholesale It is a free for all until its gone and then what. a very high percentage of the top end is gone and not coming back it is having devestating effects everywhere I have footage that you would not even begin to believe from friends down east that fish for a living(small inshore/offshore boats). tons and tons of fish thrown overboard dead because they werent part of the quota that have ben compressed in a dragger net. Okay im stopping because its making me boil. Take a picture throw it back would you be this happy or easy on someone that keeps a 70lb muskie I dont think so Peter

A couple of guys from our unit were in the last one they did. Although it is very informative to see and I do recommend you see it I think anyone that plays in cold water should test out their gear in the same cold water in a controlled manner(beach with a rope and a buddy) in very cold water not dressed for the pool but with everything on you are going to be out in(make sure it floats you). It is a shock and what you think may be your reaction to a situation changes very quickly when you loose your grip Just saying Peter

UGLY STICKS hands down!!!!!!!! The reason I say this is because my kids are all 19+ now they have been fishing since sthey could walk and over the years the have won at alot of derbies and as you can imagine alot of rods and reels have been won and out of that the only ones that survive are the ugly sticks Im here to tell you that the beating they can take cant be matched by any other rod I have numerous other rods with broken tips missing eyes and whatnot but the ulgy sticks survive Just my 2 cents Peter

So here is a question for you: I havent really posted to much to be honest I have a few pictures of last summer but my main goal last year was to put some bike rubber on the road I have always been a dirt rider since childhood but never a road rider something just kept me off anyway as a mature adult I figured Id give the road a try (years of wisdom) took the bike course and bought a bike and got on with it. Well after 15000km on the beastie things fell into place(big Jim and the twins) and I really really like it so I bought another bike more to my liking actually its the first road bike I ever rode many moons ago So here is the question I cant see this year being any different then last in terms of fishing(my poor boat has got a complex). I would like to get to Lakair this year come up on Friday pitch the tent and have a few coolies I wont be bringing a boat and will be traveling light fishing rod and some baits who is going to take me out in their boat for the tournament I will be leaving Saturday after the chow down or maybe leave Sunday morning depends on the coolant level. I dont bite. Cheers Peter

When the time comes and the war with the zombies arrives paper will be worth nothing and the pieces of shinny stuff you hold will get you what you want!!!! Peter

My opinion if your handy redo them. over time you can wear the fit for a seal and they will leak by its not a big deal they will likely look good when you look at them but once they are spinning at road speed it changes if you replace the bearings and I say this as a millwright dont buy Chinese bearings still not at the quality level of North America or Europe they are cheaper for a reason bearing buddies and a good water/high pressure grease. With bearing buddies if you notice the plate drop a inch or more a year you likely have seal issues the grease has to go somwhere and it will be out the seal just watch the plate and once a year pop the cap off and make sure that the grease looks good and hasent got alot of water in the spaces in the grease if yes scoop it out put the cap back on and pump it up as long as there is grease in the buddies and nothing impedes the travel of the plunger it will do its job out of all the jobs you may attempt on a boat this ranks up there on the beginner level. just my 2 cents Peter
