  1. Nothing like a great deal and sharing the wealth is what this site is all about! Wish I could have shipped to the U.S and saved 75 bucks like some of you guys did!!!! Landry
  2. Heads up to everyone out there! Cabelas has their premium raingear - Gore-tex Guidewear x300 - on sale right now at less than half price!!!!!!! Bibs (99) + Parka (115) They still have lots in stock but this usually changes quickly on their blowout deals. I got hosed for 75 for duty and taxes (but I asked and got free shipping) which sucks but it still came to 290, which is much cheaper than BPS 100 mph suit at 500+ Supposed to be the best raingear there is. Landry
  3. Steelheaders can be touchy and defensive - I no longer river fish and used to love it but I got sick of all the selfishness, bravado and battling for space and supremacy. I love steelies but I love solitude and relaxation/cooperation in boat fishing more. People need to relax - it's a salmon run - who really cares!!!!!!! Landry
  4. You two donkeys sound like a couple of spoiled, greedy and wealthy cottage owners, posing as caring parents. You crossed the line when you put a "forged"/fake sign up - end of story!!!!! I would fish there just because of that sign. On the other hand - I would never fish a dock with people on or near it, nor would I ever leave a hook behind. Fact - you don't own the water and we all need to share and follow basic laws (like not putting illegal signs up) Take a hike!
  5. There is a ML 6'8" BassPro Carbonlite rod that is really nice IMO. Crazy light
  6. my 10 year old daughter fits inside the 116 net standing up!!!! Landry
  7. As long as the boats are out of your casting range then you have no complaints.
  8. When the previous owner ran it - customer service was very good. I have owned 2 pairs and I would say that they are very average in quality. My latest pair has some lifting of the coating around the edges. I have given up on them and don't want a replacement pair. Maui Jums are far superior but too expensive. Lately I have been buying cheapies instead and they enable anglers to spot fish just as well as expensive glasses - no matter what the marketing hype says. Landry
  9. Hi Josh, Good luck on the mission on Thursday. I would insure it for what you feel the Cdn value is - that way if a careless driver wrecks it you have no worries in replacing it with a similar or better boat I think that is a great deal. Landry
  10. You must be proud of your boy!!!
  11. I doubt you would pay MI state tax either way. Just call the dealer and check with him. Pay 13% HST at the border plus 200 for trailer registration.
  12. I went through the same thing. Imported boat and paid at border then they tried to get PST from me AGAIN, 2 years later - what a joke!!!
  13. cram gave a good review - I own the stowmaster.
  14. Love your videos!!!!! Jon knows his stuff. My buddy got a fat 47" on st. clair casting a buudawg with me last week. I got squat casting - got a few trolling but I hate trolling.
  15. I never donate money to middle class Canadians to "support" them as they drive their son to sports games in their 50,000$ SUV with 700$ of hockey equip in the back. I give to real charities. I refuse to do team fundraisers for my kids hockey - I just throw in $ instead - I am too embarrassed to ask for $$$ to support my family's lifestyle choices. Landry
  16. I was at kashagawigamog for 2 weeks - big bass are very tough!!!! Muskie were easier to catch - seriously!
  17. Terry is right - I use my elite 5 unit and compared to my buddies Marcum, I think it is better. Real-time, picks up jig well, and I put it back on the boat in March:) I love watching that gradual ski-slope line as the fish move up towards my jig from the bottom.
  18. don't know what i did but it worked Thanks for the help
  19. The download is there but nothing is happening. I am stumped. I tried the command in a terminal but nothing happened when I hit return or loaded lms software??? I must be doin something wrong!
  20. Trying to update my lowrance lms520c. Need to get it onto an SD card Can't figure out how to do it on my Mac (OS X operating system) Tried to download launcher program and then run software but no go????? Has anyone done this or know how????? My lms 520c unit goes crazy in shallow water and this upgrade will fix that supposedly. Thanks Landry
  21. I once had a bassboat (with a certain apple farm ad wrapped all over it) cut right in front of my kids and I as we worked down a shoreline - just more than one full cast away and then he just worked his way along in front of us for 30 min, never looking back. I was really pissed. I was extra annoyed becasue I had seen this same boat, flipping / pitching for bass in early June. Real classy. Landry
  22. what lake are you reffering to cause I think I fished the same one and was wondering if it was b-g algae. Can u PM me the lake name? Thanks
  23. I would go to a SeviceCanada centre and ask them what to do
  24. Bought a new battery - took it out and the same trim/rpm problem was there. Motor ran a little inconsistent/rough too it skips at low rpm's once in a while Checked batteries periodically after ripping around full out for 45 minutes - 13+ volts sometimes and 12.5 others???? Finished at 12.7?? I dunno but what I do know is that the rpm/shift problem is new. Last year I blew 3 ignition coils under warranty and I am starting to wonder if this problem is on its way back - before that happened I had a few engine skips similar to what I am seeing now. Ironically, I have a Mazda MPV and it blows ignition coils all the time. Landry
  25. Let me preface this by saying: I am not handy/mechanically inclined at all:) I have a 75 hp opti that has been running perfectly since a complete warrantied replacement of the ignition coils - until last day. • First of all - my battery has gone dead while resting in the garage for a few weeks twice now - battery is less than a year old?? I just tested the battery and the voltage reading was 12.34 V - is that a little low or okay? • When I start the motor it fires up fine but at times I am getting a wobbly/weak beep instead of a solid one which is normal - low battery sign??? • Twice it stalled out/sputtered at low rpm's last trip - which it never does. • When trimming the motor up and down last trip I noticed that the rpm's dropped while trimming - never noticed this before. This seems to point to a power problem but what do I know? Should rpms change at trolling speed when I hit trim button?? I have heard these motors are very voltage sensitive?? Is the battery the root of the problem or is it a fuel filter issue maybe - never changed it (owned motor for one year). Is the fuel filter easy to change by myself anyways?? Anyone recognize any of these minor symptoms? Thanks Landry
