  1. Congrats Joey and Good Luck with it. Mike
  2. I had a fisheasy for a few yrs and no complaints about the unit. Eagles always seem to work well for the price.
  3. It was Mike (EH) that was looking for the tails. Maybe he can tell you the best way to prep them.
  4. Welcome aboard kitchener boy. The big guy TJ will probably be the most help with Longpoint. He has lots of experience up there, if you've checked out the website it's all his work. Mike
  5. I'd have to say my best investment last year was the Lowrance X67C ice machine. Like fishdawg I use it all year round, as a portable on the hardwater, convert to bow mount for summer and then a portable again for the annual flyin. Great little unit for the dollar and the colour screen makes reading the structure so much easier. Also outifitted my boat this year with a mast and planer boards along with two cannon downriggers( Thanks KyleM ). Both great set ups, now if I could just find the time to get out and fish more. I guess no bad investments this summer. Oh yeah I also bought a 2 dollar lottery ticket that paid off. Thanks to Muskies Canada and Richard of Ottawa River Trophy Muskie Charters for a great trip, 2 days of fun times fishing and learning from the guide and my fishing partner. You can't really put a price on that but a great investment. Mike
  6. Great pics and report, also congrats on the PB. Going to have to get down there someday. Mike
  7. Your right, you did get lucky. I make a habit of doing a walk around and a look under anything I trailer at every fill up. A habit I got into years ago when my Dad and I used to tow for people. You never know what you'll find and fix along the way. Lesson learned I guess, glad to hear it wll worked out in the end.
  8. Thanks for the report Pete. I know what your talking about with the thick swamps. We have the saying at our camp that the brush was so thick you couldn't horse whip a rabbit thru it. Oh the life of a dog man and the things we have to travel thru to get tht deer moving. I've always said the huntings more about the good times then the meat. Good Luck next year. Mike
  9. Congrats Pete. Nice fish also.
  10. My soft water season will be ending this week as I'm going to winterize the boat before the weekend. But bring on the hard water season. I have the portable hut out of storage and slowly getting it ready to go. Mike
  11. I've used one for a few years and love it. Nothing special done to it. Just use it aimed right into the wind and it was fine. Good Luck with it. Mike
  12. Great photos Dan. Thanks for posting them. Mike
  13. Nice report Sherriff, Thanks
  14. Great job FF. Looks like a busy boat but probably alot of fun. Thanks for the report. Mike
  15. After that beauty trout you got last year I guess it's ok to dream about the ice out there. Mike
  16. Congrats on landing a great job. Best of Luck with your career.
  17. Great job, Guys. Looking forward to the stories and Thanks for posting the pics Mike.
  18. OK Tom what does that relate to in Expressvu Channel??? Thanks for the heads up. Funny the other day I was thinking of that book thread and I want to go back to the old site and copy all the suggestions if I can find them. Mike
  19. Nice job on the Ducks, like Clampet said now the hard work begins. Enjoy the meals.
  20. Hey Brian. I haven't gotten that far into the books but I'll have to have a look.
  21. Shhhhhh, I think he's sleeping now. Congrats Roy your knowledge and wit keep things moving. Mike
  22. I'm the main cook in our house and it works out well, as I love to cook and she has no objection to cleaning up after me. Best thing about being the cook is you get to choose the menu. I think I own more cook books then any other type of book. I actually pick up an Indian and Thai book just yesterday, gotta love the curry and spices.
