It was discussed here a few weeks ago. The building is almost complete. It's supposed to be opening in the spring. Looking forward to it!

Wow, sounds like a great weekend! Have fished with 2 out of 3 of your guests (Simon & Troy). They are a good bunch to be hanging out fishing with. Had a good time at the fishing show yesterday, but your weekend sounds like it would have been the place to be!

Was there for the whole discussion. There wasn't any talk about Muskie on Qunite. Mostly Georgian, St. Lawrence, St. Clair & LOTW. Interestig stuff. The guys know what they are talking about.

Nice job Brian, good looking fish.

See you there Dax.

When we did renos years ago and took advantage of the then eco-energy rebate program the government had, we had to have an energy efficiency test done on the house (negative pressure blower test) both before the renos and then after they were all done. They then based our 'rebate' on the improvement we created in the houses overall energy efficiency. They also took into account new windows, insulation etc. There may be specific rebates for upgrading you furnace and electronic thermostat etc. Check the Ministry of Environment for information on rebate programs.

One of the things he could be looking for is to get on plane easier. I do know that with 3 guys in his boat there was a bit of a requirement for a "ballast" shift to help get'er up. Hey, the ballast looks a lot like the guy in my avatar photo! (I'll just sit with the Minn Kota next time!)

That's pretty cool...wonder if it floats...attach some rod holders.

Thank you for posting this Blaque. I've just read this and have already contacted them about the trial. I'm hoping it might be something my 62 year old mother may be a candidate for. She had a Kidney removed 3½" years ago, and just in the last 4 weeks have found half a dozen new tumours in her body, with the most concerning ones being in her lungs. It's a rare soft tissue sarcoma which apparently is not responsive to Chemo. We have a consult with a Thoracic Surgeon on Monday to see what his take on prognosis and direction is. Really appreciate you pointing this out, as ANY opportunity to look at a direction is worth while.

As much as it'd be nice to spend a day in a boat with Mariko, I don't think we'd get much fishing done! Survey complete.

I think I hear the sound of an HDS-10 calling your name...Shhhh...Do you hear it?

Gary Loomis talks about the IM ratings on fishing rods
I'mHooked replied to Garry2Rs's topic in General Discussion
At least one other: http://www.lamiglas.com/prod_indiv.php?groupid=70 Salmon & Steelhead Rods: Lamiglas Si The all-new Lamiglas Si Series reflects the absolute best in rod construction and design. Greater sensitivity and strength is achieved using 3M's Nano Matrix Resin. Now, with this innovative new technology salmon and steelhead anglers will enjoy superior strength, as much as 40% more strength, with no added weight. (Just happened to be reading about it last night) E21 (Carrot Stix rods) is a golf club manufacturer as well: http://e21sports.com/ They hit a golf ball from the International Space Station 4 years ago. Wonder if they've got plans for the longest cast from space? Very interesting read Garry, thanks for the information! -
Aw, ya mean now I've got to go get a power auger? Yay! I'll tell her Roy said it's ok!

Hey!...I resemble that remark!

Well here's mine set up! Had to open it in the basement...much better half wouldn't allow anywhere else. It's much more robust than I was expecting. All the windows are a very soft pliable plastic that are removable. It has a blackout lining on the inside. With all windows closed it's black inside! I'm quite pleased. Just have to figure out how get both people AND the sled it came with in the car! The sled is 60" long, includes a nice cover and the chair is quite sturdy and rated 250lbs. Looking forward to trying this baby out! Woohoo! Oh, and it did ring in at $199 at the till.

Just picked up the only one on the shelf at the Burlington Mall location. Hmmm....which room to play in...dining room or living room? I'm sure Simcoe will freeze one of these days!

Most of those tubs have lip that turns up around the egde which is how they are fastened to the studs. If the tiling was done properly, the tiles would come right down past that lip as close to the top horizontal surface of the tub as possible, then the edge sealed to the tub. This means that at least the 1st row of tiles would have to be removed to even get the tub moving. Good luck.

Wow, great effort! Glad you hooked into something, nice looking one too. Could have been worse during the first 19 hours...could have been doing house work! Nice report, well detailed.

I understand the LX5 uses 2 chrystals for the 2 different frequencies in it's transducer, while I think the Vex only uses 1 chrystal. I've read that when only 1 chrystal used for both frequencies, the secondary frequency is not as 'clean' a signal. Whether it'll have much impact on finding the fish I couldn't tell you. Hopefully someone else can elabrate a little more. Was looking at the LX5 last year, but ended up liking/buying the Humminbird ICE 385Ci combo.

Why don't you just check with Mclean? He's probably got his own keepsake copy!

That's rotten news Bruce, sorry for your loss. Must be some dust in the air here.

Now THAT'S dedication! Removing the roof of your garage so you could crane lift the ice hut out!
