  1. Totally NF post. But I've always wondered how many other OFC'ers are runners? I've been running off and on my entire life. But I've been plagued with injuries all stemming from a few some nasty spills I took while snowboarding, and now my right knee is in bad shape. It makes it tough to run, at the best of time. Aside from surgery, there is not much I can for my knee (other then stop running). One thing that really helped was purchasing a pair of Asics Gel-Kayano running shoes. These things are the cat's pajamas for people with joint pain. I put 600km on the first pair, and just rolled over 50km on my second pair. Again, I know this thread it totally NF. But I was wondering if any other OFC'ers had some running related stories to share? Cool things that have happened to you while you were running? Goals you have set and achieved? Cool races or runs you have been a part of? New goals you are attempting to achieve? Maybe some crazy way this thread could end up being fishing related? I'll share my goals for this year: · Run a sprint Triathlon · Run a 1/2 Marathon · Run a sub 25 minute 5k (this is tough with a bad knee) This thread will likely go nowhere. But I thought I'd give it a go. A good friend did a 100km wilderness race this month. Found a 8pt deer shed, and had a close encounter with a mother bear and her cubs. That's one wild race!
  2. I am very very far from being an expert in this field. But. I have a 16 year old oil furnace. Vented thru the wall in my basement. There is no chimney in my house.
  3. Then wash i down with some Maple Crown eh Chad!
  4. My uni knot has to have 6 twists on my flouro leader, and 5 on my braid. Lucky # 11.
  5. Good to know. Thanks for the info! I'll have to check them out. Slow Death trolling is one of my favorite presentations for eyes.
  6. That's AWESOME Pete!! The pic made me laugh out loud at work!
  7. Oh boy.. That's got my blood pumping!
  8. The "Severn Sound" is basically the entire lower south east part of Georgian Bay. Hit the shallow bays. Spoons, Spinners. And as Bruce, and several others will likely mention, the water level is very low, and the area is treacherous for rocks and shoals. Use EXTREME caution!!!
  9. Post if for sure! My 2 biggest Channel Cats where caught there as well. Both at night.
  10. Short and Fat. Not the longest I have caught, but the most chunky for sure. Pic doesn't do it any justice.
  11. I don't know the exact age of the painting. But I will look to see if I can find a date on it anywhere. The angles are not quite right on the photo to the painting. I am going to go back in the fall and get an exact shot... But yes, that crack has opened up a lot! The area has really fallen apart to he honest with you. The campsites are not maintained by the PP. They are full of broken glass and garbage. There are people there every weekend. And the fishing has gone down hill drastically in the last 10 - 15 years. I have been skunked the last 5 times I was there. The docks where removed at least 15 years ago. Last year someone left a sunken boat sitting at one of the prime docking spots.... It's sad really. But it's still one of my favorite spots to go anchor and swim.
  12. Very nice man! I've only been once, and it was during the turn over late in the fall. Got skunked on eyes.... Next time!
  13. Do you got any pop holders installed?
  14. That's awesome!! Great job fellas!
  15. Mine also changes from week to week. This weeks (stretches across two monitors: Last weeks: The week before: All I-Phone pics.
  16. My 870 can hold 7... And it was bought that way from BPS, and did not even come with a plug to make it legal in Ontario. When using it hunting, I remove the extended mag, put a normal one on, with a plug. Not 100% sure of the legalities when not hunting..
  17. I can clearly see why it didn't take off. Even if that trailer was made out of the lightest composites of the time, once loaded with camping gear and the family for a weeks vacation.... No way that bug would be able to stop for red lights... The concept if very cool though.
  18. What Drifter said.. Just make sure you set it in place good and tight. I also use one of my mooring ropes, and give it a few wraps around the motor mounting base.....Just in case something breaks, and it falls off.. I don't want it to end up through someone windshield behind me. The motor part is the heaviest, down by the prop. So I always try to get that as close the mounting bracket as possible when tailoring. Least amount of stress on the plastic mounting bracket.
  19. Great jiggy report! You two are amazing fisherman! Perfect hook sets every time!
  20. I have a friend with one, and they love him. But like others have said, lots of hair! Not sure about the recalling them to Norway.. Good luck with that... No way in hell someone would come to my house and take my dog... Why would they ever want to do that in the first place? Seems very odd to me... So when Canada goes to war, are we going to take all the beavers and maple syrup from all the other countries? :^)
  21. Sure... If your close enough. I would not take a 40 yard shot at a bear with buckshot and expect it to drop dead...
