You could probably just use some wire. Attach to the splitring, then have a hook at the end and slide the grub over it.

Great report! My father lost his eyesight when I was very young, and never fished after that. I'm glad to see people dont let that stop them from catching some good fish!

I havent fished the Islands in 2008, but I used to fish them all the time. This time of year the weeds are never too high. It's a good thing too, because by late summer you wont be able to drag a lure through those very same area you checked out. My fav weedbed is in the main chanel, you probably wont be able to spot it without polarized glasses, but at this time of year it should be 3-4 feet under the surface and prime for throwing spinner baits over it. You need to make a solid cast past the sandy areas close to shore, but i promise those weeds are out there!

Cool story, I've had the same thing happen whiel pike fishing. Had a small 20 inch pike on, and a monster pike came from under the boat and t-boned him. the big one was pushing 50 inches for sure, but didint hang on long.

I'll see what I can do about gettign soem more photos edited, the videos looks great so far too! These were photos taken with the Canon Rebel XTi DSLR There are several different exhibits at the aquarium, including a freshwater one with bass, catfish and several other species, but the photos there didnt turn out so well since the lighting is bad.
