  1. I've seen some pretty bad aged tattoo - but todays inks and aftercare are quite a bit different then 20 years ago. You'll be seeing tattoos keep their colour and detail far longer then they ever did before. If cours eit all depends on skin types and how much sun exposer you get aswell but theres no reason a 50 year old tattoo cant look good these days!
  2. I'd hate to see the total cost of that trip!
  3. I actually had one boss recommend that I take otu my earrings when I worked at a big bank downtown TO. I was a teller in a suit seeing hundreds of client each day - many of whom were CEOs and big bosses at the suroundinng buildings. I told my manager that if she asked me to take out my earrings she'd have to ask every other employee under her too as well - including women. She didnt bring it up again. When I left the job she told me I was one of her favorite people she had worked with and gave me great references ever since. I work with a couple guys out here in Halifax with their forearms tattooed - no one even gives them a second look. If anything its a conversation starter to be pierced and tattooed these days!
  4. I'd bring a 7" medium heavy baitcaset combo (Compre/Calcutta 251) and a bunch of large spinner baits in various colors.
  5. We fished just north of Red Lake for pike and did pretty well. There were several guys using dead bait. The standard setup was heavy leaders a few feet under a float, lots of guys used small ballons as floats to keep it on the cheap. Generally you be using the dead baits in less the 5 feet of water. A heave mono or fluro leader is your best bet (at least 80lb) I'd say the leaders doesnt need to be too long - 4 feet max. Make sure you have some big strong hooks too! We stuck to lures and Im pretty sure we outfished the deadbait guys. I used an 80lb fluro leader that was about 12 inches long, never had a fish break off teh whole trip. I'd take a bunch of spinner baits if I were you, #5 Mepps or larger work like gold. If you are there at the right time and place the pike will hit any lure though. Some big plastics that you can fish weedless in really shallow water is good aswell. Some of our largest fish came in less then a foot of water. Silver was my top colour for spinners. This spinner that I made myself produced several 40+ inch pike <--- You can see it in the mouth of the pike to the left.
  6. I'd have to agree with you Daplumma - if it was 10 years ago. Todays world is becoming more and more tattooed and pierced. I've worked for very large professional companies and have seen a huge change in policies and acceptance of body modifacation. I've got half inch holes through my ears and only once heard grieft from a potential employer. Granted if I went to an interview with my face tattooed it may be a problem. I bet you'd be surprised how many of your own clients are tattooed and pierced under their suits. With all the tattoo shows on TV it wont be long until the modified out number the "normal"
  7. You mean this one HD?? Heres a couple beauties people have sent in to FF... This one is my favorite trout tattoo ever... And heres one of our logo on one of our writers!
  8. The back isnt too bad from what I hear, mine was done on my ribs, but only took a couple hours so it wasnt bad at all. I have one planned on my stomach that I'll hopefully get in the next month or two.
  9. That is BEAUTIFUL man! great colours! I've got a marlin tattoo of my own, but its a very simply one in B&W as a memorial to my father. This is an image from shortly after it was done (note the redness)
  10. Gas was $1.28 /L here today
  11. When ever I have fished TO Islands on pike opener I run into a few guys. I alway ask how the day has been and 3 out of 4 guys will tell you it was much better last week...guess no one reads the regs.
  12. Blake has it right I think, nothign beats teh Shimano DC reels for distance.
  13. I'd fill the box with Mepps Black furys and Aglias!
  14. Nice setup, I love it!
  15. Awesome story Lew. I heard that Lews tears are Chuck Norris' kryptonite. To bad Lew never cries. I have the same thing happen witha big pike, Im not sure who was more surprised when I grabbed the fish, me or the pike. I didnt even know there was such a rule, when I was 12 we used to grab suckers in small creeks with our bare hands all the time.
  16. I've only seen a couple big ones. I try to compress my images as much as possible without loosing quality. Another tip is to try Opera, you have a small icon that you can click to prevent all images from loading. You can turn it on/off anytime with ease. You can also set it to just view cached images.
  17. I'd let her go for sure. I dont hold much faith in the old musky records anyway. I'd possibly keep a record bass though. heres some pictures of some of the biggest musky on record Cal Johnson, 67 lbs Lawton, 69 pounds 15 ounces and Spray, 69 pounds 11 ounces
  18. Awesome, those are some big cats!
  19. great job bro!
  20. mepps

    WOW!

Yeah I saw a full page add in one of my magazines the other day too...good stuff!
  21. amazing shots!
  22. GULP sinking minnows are my all time favorite for largemouth bass. You can use them sub surface with lots of action, or allow them to slowly sink and trigger hits from inactive bass. These are the type of hooks I liek to use: Even caugt a couple of musky with these.
  23. nice job Rich!
