  1. Nice write up Marc, great theories! I ran into some clients of yours from Muskies Inc New Jersey last week...
  2. I use the camera flash method myself, but as they said, LEDS work best
  3. Outstanding report! I felt like I was there - except there was no slime...
  4. I've had a couple muskies on em - lost a big one that straightened the hook
  5. I went there about 10 years ago and fish from a canoe. We caught tons of bass on black fury's including some of the biggest rock bass I have ever seen!
  6. a rental for sure! The only wii fishing game I like is ancient - SEGA Bass fishing. Not the best looking, but the gameplay is addictive.
  7. I like this thread Here my only fish over 40 inches from Toronto islands... These ones are from Little Vermilion Lake, about 6 hours north of Thunderbay Ontario. They were caught toward the end of May, start of June. All over these were well over 40, the biggest were over 45 inches. I use 50-65lb braided lien with 80lb fluro leaders for pike. Although you'll see some of these were caught while walleye fishing with 20lb braid... 2005 2007 - these three were all on the same lure - that I made myself! Caught this one about 2 minutes after the one above...
  8. I have heard good things about the Revo, and there are 3 different models, the cheapest 129USD. I have a Diawa Mega force that is a great reel at $70USD. A few of my buddies have sued it as a learner baitcast reel and done very well with it. The Shimano Cardiff is a decent reel too, and will cost no more then $120 USD As for rods, the Shimano Compre is the bees knees. For a cheaper rod, I like the Berkley Lightning and the Shimano Scimitar @ around $50
  9. 90% of my Jack Lake muskie have come on Mepps Black Furys. Jack muskie love small lures - caught several on #3s while fishing for bass. The muskie killer is you best bet for bigger fish though. The other 10% were on the following: Rapala Husky jerk - Tenesee shad Rapala X-rap - Clown Gulp Sinking Minnow - White And my own spinner baits with # 8 french blades
  10. Happens quite a bit with spinners. Usually they come off due to lack of line tension. Many fish just hit spinner lightly and are hooked very well. Most spinners aren't built to change hooks easily, but some are. All you would need to do is cut the hook off and put a new one on with a split ring. I love my mepps spinners, but I often change the hooks to better trebles most of the time.
  11. Dexter is awesome, take a look at Breaking Bad too! And Top Gear is the best of the best IMO - plus you have 14 seasons you can download!
  12. welcome to the internets!
  13. I love canoes personally, but I usually fish with another person. For solo trips a Kayak is much better since it is lighter you can move it easier from the roof of your car.
  14. When I was single without a kid I'd go for sure! Replace bass with snapper, and muskie with cudas! I love Caribbean life, but its not for everyone thats for sure! If they can find you a place to live at a low cost it could be good, but paying island rent is normally NOT cheap!
  15. Great fish, nice colour on that water too - looks like the Caribbean!
  16. I've been taking my boy out since he was 6 months old. HE can handle a reel very well, but got a little scared when he hooked his first fish last month! He decided the best course of action was simply to put the rod down on the ground and walk away.... He is gonna be 2 in less then a month!
  17. Dude, thats a serious walleye! I can put you on the photoshop weightloss plan if you are interested.
