  1. Very lucky to have caught it early, Lew. I'm sure she'll do great and be cured. Peter
  2. Great report! Surprised at the speed 2.6 mph. That's salmon speed.
  3. caught a 25 incher trolling in 25 ft with a perch Walleye Diver. fish came off a 13 ft hump- no weeds 1.5 mph
  4. I fish the Kawarthas and find a smaller rod adequate and more fun. Would be rare to catch anything over 20 lb. Usually 10 -15 lb. or less For that, a lighter combo is preferred in my book. Mine is a 7 ft med/ heavy. Berkley I think. Abu Revo Toro with 80 lb PP. I heavy rod is a killer casting all day. But then I'm a little guy. 5ft 6in, 165lb
  5. still tricky with a 45 in ski. a real fish, that is
  6. awesome. what is the season for them? And i think there is a minimum size too
  7. good of you to post such great advice! Thanks
  8. Don't wear them but they are close by. BTW. Is it true that kids must wear one in a boat? To what age?
  9. You sure they are eyes? Dypsy should work, and gets your lure away from the boat
  10. Poor buggars in Calgary Snow and below freezing temps Made me think to start the snowblower to keep the carb happy
  11. I'm no expert but I know the Lakers are getting ready to spawn. To my surprise, I caught one in 10 ft of water casting a shoal with a crankbait, on Simcoe in Sept.
  12. What a fool. They'll gettum Social media will see to that
  13. beats the snot out of what I've managed on Pigeon
  14. Incredible! Sutton River.......on my bucketlist
  15. great report! too bad about the finger Thought the salmon would be in the rivers by now
  16. I spent a week on the Larry around Brockville a few years back with poor results. What general area were you fishing?
  17. I asked the CO at the fishing show because of the walleye slot on the Kawarthas. To pinch or not to pinch the tail He thought my question was laughable. Told him I don't want a fine over the 1/2 difference Can be used either way at both ends of the slot Never did answer me
  18. Fishing with my sister 8 pm Sat night on NE Pigeon Lake. 2 Game Wardens come over and do their thing. No fish, I had my licence but my sister left her's at the cottage. No problem, "good evening" I was surprised they were on patrol on a Saturday night. Glad they were. First time I've seen them in the area in the 3 yrs we've been up there. Drove a fairly new Crestliner, about 17 ft, and Yammy 130 hp Last time I was checked was 5 yrs ago on Nippissing. Same combo then as well, Crestliner/Yammy
  19. so much better than any reef in the Caribbean I've seen. It's on my bucketlist for sure
  20. I troll with 70 lb MinKota in my 17.5 ft Lund. At half speed I get 1.5 mph for eyes in calm water In high winds would likely have to crank it right up. Not sure how long the batteries would last at full speed. Maybe 3-4 hrs. I wouldn't want it as a spare motor 5 miles out on Lake Erie in bad weather if the main motor failed
  21. my dock, on north Pigeon.....I hope But I'm not holding my breath
  22. for what they are charging now for their rods, this is not good.
  23. I'm guessing they are classified as a muskie as per the regs. Anybody know? If they are sterile, like a mule, do they need to be protected?
  24. everything will be open. lots of guys trolling fast with big baits for skis. fishing can be great or bad. water levels stay high till Thanksgiving. then they drop. the fish have seen a lot of lures by then I have better luck in these, my home waters, in the spring. fall can be tough, weather more unpredictable
  25. You guys are dialed in big time. Are we talking the Larry?
