  1. Both are safe to consume, according to the MNR. The black ones are called "sea lice" and rarely go past the scales and skin. Therefore, skin your fish and you're fine. I've been eating fish with them for years and have yet to see any damageamageamageamage! Finkle 5. Finkle 5. Shine shoe.
  2. I'm not sure I've found a better lure than a 3 inch tube jig for smallies. Weight and color varies. Use the least amount of weight you can get away with. For color, smoke is a great all-around one.
  3. Read about it in the Sun I think. Looks like a great show. Wish I had TV to watch it.
  4. You must mean all the other lakes and rivers in the area the gobies & zebra mussels have moved their way into.
  5. Unfortunately, zebra mussels are like little water filters. Meaning they ingest all of the toxins. So when the gobies eat the mussels, they are now full of toxins. Now what about when the bass, walleye, catfish, perch, pike, and just about everything else that swims eats the gobies? Food chain right?
  6. For the bass like in your avatar that's fine C2F, However I'd bet my paycheck if you hooked a slop bass 75 ft back your 6lb test would award you a lure donation to the lady of the lakes.
  7. Sheesh, you're in Nova Scotia and you can get decent baitcasters at your local Crappy Tire. Our area prides itself on supposedly being "bass capital of Ontario" and our CT rarely carries spinnerbaits, let alone a baitcaster!
  8. Dude, Banjo minnows ruled! Don't knock 'em!
  9. Long Point Bay, Lake Erie. In spring starts channel cats, carp, some pike and big lake Erie perch Summer is bass time Fall is bass, pike, carp and salmon/steelhead Winter I ice fish for perch, crappie, pike or fish the rivers for steelhead
  10. Rod #1 - baitcaster, 50 pound Stealth, 6'6 Medium Heavy - Spinnerbait Rod #2 - baitcaster, 14 pound mono, 6'6 Medium - Senko Rod #3 - baitcaster, 65 pound Stealth, 8'6 Heavy (flippin stick) - Jig/Pig or Texas Rig Plastic Worm Rod #4 - spinning , 8 pound mono, 6'6 Medium - Topwater Bait or crankbait (tube if I'm fishing smallies) Reason for putting the senko on the mono is I usually bust them out in clear water and I feel more confident in catch clear water bass on mono than I do with the more visible braided lines.
  11. 5.5' ? What happened to the other half? lol Okay I'll stop being a knob. Rod #1 - baitcaster, 50 pound Stealth, 6'6 Medium Heavy Rod #2 - baitcaster, 14 pound mono, 6'6 Medium Rod #3 - baitcaster, 65 pound Stealth, 8'6 Heavy (flippin stick) Rod #4 - spinning , 8 pound mono, 6'6 Medium
  12. When it comes to grubs, I rarely use anything but Mister Twisters! Mostly because they're one of the only companies I can buy locally that still makes flat colour grubs. I don't want my grub to be "Captain America" or "Rainbow Sherbet" ... I want white, black or orange.
  13. Some kids like sports, some kids like video games and tech stuff.. and very few kids - love fishing.
  14. Wait a minute, if he's married, how'd Squid get them out of the vice?
  15. I usually use them texas rigged weightless. Wacky is great if the fish are really inactive, might as well be a live worm on your line, they rarely turn it down.
  16. I can't say... I never know when Sugarpacket is watching.
  17. There's such a thing as "serious" bass fishing?
  18. Rock bass lure IMO
  19. Actually not a bad idea. I can attribute my addiction a lot to my dad only taking me on SOME of his trips, then coming home when he didn't take me and bragging about all the big fish he caught. Especially if he went to a new spot.. then I'd be bugging to go see the spot!
  20. Good start dude! I have to admit when I was 13 I was lucky to have my grandfather and my dad donating lures they didn't use to me all the time. I don't think I've had just ONE tackle box since I was six..
  21. Nice!
  22. Aww man, is it the Star Wars Lego set? I'm comin' too!
  23. Can't go wrong with a Curado.. but dang that Megaforce looks sweet. Thanks Clive, now I have to waste more money I don't have! lol
  24. Since I've got nothing but time today, here's a couple pics. lol No I didn't cover it.. how would corn grow if it was all shady? hahaha
  25. How big is the Ikea bag? I have a Sobeys shopping bag that came in the mail for free I thought of converting into a drift sock.. since I can't show any loyalty to Sobeys by using their shopping bag, being that I work at their competitor, lol
