  1. I'd like to know people's reasoning as to why minnows should work better than leeches? I know of no better bait for smallies or largies than a live leech. I don't use them, it's like cheating. But I have. 50x more bass on a live leech than a minnow. Or are we just strictly talking about that Gulp stuff? Maybe the Gulp minnows are better than the Gulp leeches.. I wouldn't know. I used one of those Gulp Alive minnows and ended up switching to tube jigs and having better results.
  2. Nice ones! I really like the colors on that last one.
  3. Trust me, the test isn't very hard to pass as it is.
  4. Ummmmm ... you have read the "not for human consumption" warnings right? Side effects may include: Making a post on OFC about the taste of your favourite fishing lures. LOL!
  5. What are your thoughts on Bass Magnet, Mr Mike?
  6. I have yet to find a soft plastic company that makes a lure that doesn't work well. I guess I buy more Wave Worms and Berkly products because they're readily available and work just fine.
  7. I like the Tiki Sticks, great affordable alternative to senkos. I've done well with the bubblegum colour.
  8. Power Pro is good stuff. I wouldn't say it's the best of the braids but it's certainly not the worst either. I think he'll be satisfied with his purchase. Make sure you use some mono for backing as already mentioned or the line will slip on the spool.
  9. Why would you fish Dunnville this time of year? Better walleye fishing is in the upper grand!
  10. Ha, that's like asking "why is bass season closed on the Canadian side and open on the US side?" The government's laws are dated and nobody is researching into changing them!
  11. Hope you all enjoy another episode of Action Angling. Bass fishing for a change! http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=324...66&hl=en-CA
  12. A guy at work said he actually won something once doin' that.
  13. And you call me a pot head! j/k man
  14. They are great for SMALL WATERS! Don't go anywhere where gas motors are allowed, one little tinny drives by and you'll be swamped. Otherwise, jump in, wear your PFD and have fun. I wouldn't stick a gas motor on one.. a little electric will do just fine.
  15. Crappie in GB? Never even heard of any numbers there. I'm sure someone will help you out.
  16. If you're not looking for great lakes run fish, there are plenty of trout streams to fish in your area. If you were staying a little closer to where I am, I'd gladly divulge a few good fly fishing streams for ya. I'm sure someone in the area may be able to help you out though.
  17. lol @ Amish look - I haven't been home for several days so I haven't had a chance to trim the pubes on my face. LOL
  18. Once in a while with live bait - especially perch fishing. I hate hooking a 4 inch perch or sunfish that swallowed the hook and having to take it home. Need an Exacto knife to fillet it, LOL With lures, never.. Only time I've seen is a pike inhaling a spoon.. I stay away from lures that are likely to be deep hooked, or hooks with trebles for that matter. I do use them if I need to.. but it's rare. However, you and I GCD have a lot more experience than many on the water. Many I've seen using live bait sit there while their rod is going off and don't even know they have a bite. My buddy Josh used to deep hook fish all the time, it's the only time he caught anything is if something swallowed it, lol. He just didn't know how to detect bites. There are a lot of anglers like him out there believe me. Please keep in mind I'm not advocating the one rod rule, I'm simply giving guesses as to why it's in place by the government.
  19. Agreed on the Yum Dingers UF.. I never had much luck with them either. They sink too slowly IMO.
  20. For trolling I can see it. But not everyone trolls and there would be a heck of a lot of inexperienced meat hunters out there deep hooking fish left and right with live bait.
  21. I wish! Was too worried about keeping the camera dry to pull it out in that downpour. I guess I could have fitted a plastic bag over it or something. Didn't really think of it til we got back to the launch. Dang.
  22. Mostly for tournaments in the bass boat. However if we're going out meat hunting we'll fill the livewell with ice. It's really well insulated so it works great as a cooler.
  23. White with a gold blade, I don't know if I have any other colors! (if you're talking in-liners)
  24. Fished a section of river today that I haven't fished in years. It was exactly as I remembered it - void of all fish! haha. We saw 2 small gar and that was it. Apparently the pike come up there at a certain time of year.. I remember it being this time of year but guess I either missed it or was too early. Anywho, with all the fallen logs and stumps in the river I decided to flip for bass while I was there. I stopped the boat (it was bright and sunny at this point) just to tie on a plastic lizard and by the time I was done rigging it it was cloudy as heck. The wind picked right up too. Odd, I thought.. where'd that come from? Then suddenly Sugarpacket and I were stuck in a MAJOR storm that just blew up in like 5 minutes. WOW we got soaked, lightning hit trees not more than 500 feet from the shoreline. We hightailed it as soon as we heard thunder but wow, that was a scary experience. All this talk of storms thought I'd share my own story. So we came home soaked and skunked! Haha.. better luck next time I guess.
  25. Great song, great musician! I don't like country but I like this guy.
