Always nice to see the little ones catching fish. Good on you for getting her out. My youngest got her first fish last summer. A half pound catfish. She asks me to take her fishing all the time now. We wouldn't want to disappoint her, so there will be more fishing in her future. Which means more fishing for me too.

I missed this post Brian, but now that I've found it............. I already heard the story, as you know, the night before heading up to Wayne's place. The situation was awkward as you were alone & these guys didn't seem to care about private property or permission of any kind. I have a great deal of patience and understanding, however, it runs thin at the signs of ignorance and stupidity. In the same situation, it's hard to say what I would have done. Thinking about it now, I probably would have let them go without too much fuss. Post signs yourself at a height that's not easy for those asses to rip down. Or a more effective method would be for me to stand guard while you go get your birds. My skills @ human pest control far exceed my skills as a turkey hunter. Whenever hunting the property in the future, you should take a quick check for their vehicle. If you see spot them and know they're trespassing, call the police or MNR CO's and report the make, model & license plate. The local police would probably be quicker.

I'm not a golfer, but a friend of mine goes every fall specifically for the golfing and stays 10 days @ Wynn Hotel & Casino. I believe that hotel has it's own golf course. That's about all the info I have. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Maybe call the hotel you're staying at and ask where the guests like to play golf. Have a good trip.

You still trying to catch a fish Wayne? I've heard a stick of dynamite up river of a large net, stretched across from shore to shore works well. If anyone gives you a hard time, just keep repeating, It's O.K. it's O.K., with a heavy accent and pretend not to know what you're doing is illegal. Who says ignorance of the law is no excuse ? Seems to work for others. Hey, good for you. At least you were out there trying. You certainly can't expect to catch anything without a line in the water. Sooner or later the bite will turn in your favour. Hopefully sooner. I'm sure you'll pick up some fish @ the cottage. When does laker season open up there? Regardless. I was fed up with fooling around with trailer wires and fixing corrosion problems, so I bought a set of magnetic tow lights. Problem solved. I strongly recommend taping them onto the trailer frame or using plastic ties along with their magnetic capability to ensure a good bump in the road or flying debris don't knock them off. Both have happened to me. It takes about 3/4 minutes to put them on & take them off. Don't leave them on the trailer while you launch or your corrosion troubles will return. Good for other trailers too. When not in use, they can be store in the trunk/ cargo area. Keep them in some sort of container to protect them.

I've seen many in Georgian Bay. Hooked a few, but never able to land one. My dad & brother caught a couple when they hit baits being trolled & tangled themselves in the line.
