  1. Been a favourite tune of mine since he did it with "Skydog" fifty years ago
  2. Used to catch Spec's years ago along the I B and O trail as it is called now , both Mc Cue Creek and the Irondale had them , even could get a couple quick ones for lunch off the culvert just east of town where Mc Cue crosses the 503.
  3. Filled up at Costco, Jan 25th, still got between 1/2 and 3/4, should be good for another couple of months, retired and isolating 🤣
  4. Do you think the fish have little earth movers and change the structure occasionally , think the reefs and shoals are pretty much set in stone
  5. Strange, looking at lakes I know they are identical even down to lacking any contours deeper than 65.6 feet on Miskwabi
  6. do not both links take you to the same online viewer ? I found Miskwabi about ten miles east of Haliburton is incomplete , they don't have any contours deeper than 65 feet, fished it many times, it goes over a 100, the contour guy didn't finish it
  7. No subscription, it is through the i-boats website
  8. Got my wife a new laptop a few days ago at Costco , it has Windows 11 and is blistering fast to load. Probably mainly because it only has a 512 G SSD and no regular hard drive, that's enough space for her as we have a 8 gig external on the network for storage and the 512 holds all her programs and we use our desktops for serious work.
  9. had a PM for this link, might as well share , I find it good , covers most lakes with decent detail http://fishing-app.gpsnauticalcharts.com/i-boating-fishing-web-app/fishing-marine-charts-navigation.html?title=Ontario+Lakes+boating+app#5.56/44.905/-77.115
  10. pretty good detail
  11. Dad bought a place on Loon/Dudmon about 10 miles north of Gooderham as the crow flies. In 1968 the cottage with 200 feet frontage went for 8 grand and change , he was pretty pleased when he sold it 20 years later for 88, over 10 times what he paid for it, I saw it for rent maybe 5 years ago online, they did upgrade it a lot and put on an addition but it would cost that 8 grand to rent it for a month, crazy
  12. My parents had a place just north of there, fishing was for smallmouth bass or lake trout in most lakes, some lakes have had pickeral (walleye) and/or musky introduced as well. Speckled Trout are native to some lakes and Splake and Rainbows have been introduced to others if you do your stocking list homework. There was NO PIKE 👍 in Haliburton when we were there but I understand that is changing 😟 but they are to the west of that area for now.
  13. Worked for the MNR , actually think it was still the dept. of Lands and Forests when I started, back in the 70's , worked with a few clueless, one day I asked the boss about them ?? he called them P.A.'s , what do you mean I asked, " political appointees " 🤪
  14. not sure if this will work http://fishing-app.gpsnauticalcharts.com/i-boating-fishing-web-app/fishing-marine-charts-navigation.html?title=Ontario+Lakes+boating+app#14.08/45.2510/-78.5832
  15. Big fan of Popa Chubby, I've posted 4 of his video's in this thread going back a few years, this is the best rendition of Cohen's Hallelujah ever
  16. Doesn't using a gas powered generator kinda defeat the whole argument for going electric ? just sayin' maybe find a current bush and charge 🤣
  17. Just how much foam will they have to use to meet the buoyancy regulations with all the battery weight. ?
  18. You really need the 7 inch springform pan and don't over mix the ingredients and let them get to room temp
  19. Yes, I have 3 of those Instant Pots, a 3 , 6 and a 8 quart, they are great , no soaking the beans overnight like mom used to do. My beans are basically the same recipe but I used one of those little cans of tomato paste instead of catsup and the mustard is the powdered dry mustard. The 3 quart gets used for mashed taters, rice and hard boiled eggs mostly, the 6 does most main course meals and the eight does whole ears of corn and if ribs ever come down again it will take 2 whole racks, just sauce and finish under the gas broiler edit: if you ever find yourself in the doghouse this is like a get out of jail free card https://www.pressurecookrecipes.com/instant-pot-cheesecake-new-york/ supper yesterday with lots of leftovers https://www.shugarysweets.com/instant-pot-chicken-noodle-soup/
  20. That is basically what I have been doing for 13 years of retirement but the client is my wife and if I know what is good for me I wouldn't refer to her as elderly
  21. I immediately thought the same thing
  22. Listened to him as a teen, now in my 70's he has still got it, always loved his impeccable phrasing , John Lee Hooker influence ?
  23. Dad worked for Bell 1945-85, we always had a supply of that Deet at the cottage for bug season, worked good but I recall the '64 Pontiac Station wagon had two sections where your hands would go that the surface was well lets say textured 🤣
  24. 330 Max Wedge 👍
  25. Just make sure it had the 300 horse V6 , the 2.4 L inline 4 is pretty anemic from what I read and will only tow 1000 pounds
