  1. Bought a similar Victorinox boning knife with a rosewood handle back about 1974, been used on a bunch of deer and my go to on larger fish and still does duty in the kitchen today
  2. The ones I have seen still got 2 buckets and a console in between. My trucking days are over, all the window stickers have list prices more than I paid for my house, too old for sacking out on the bench at night 🤣
  3. Whatever happened to 2 door pickups with and 8 foot box and a bench seat that would seat 3 or make a place to sleep on an overnite duck hunt or steelhead trip ?
  4. Some more from Bobfest, probably the best night of music ever, totally allstar cast
  5. Haven't listened to this in 6 years it seems the Bobfest version
  6. 5 walleye and 7 pounds of lead inside with experienced fishermen running the show, did they really think it would not raise suspicion 🤣

    Cheating

Yeah , I saw a video where they cut open the fish, these were not small 1 ounce sinkers but maybe 8 ounce balls of lead, really surprised that some one on the scales didn't clue in to this sooner, you would think that working on the scales the operator would have a pretty decent idea of what the fish is going to weigh
  8. You might want to take that pic of the cormorants down, think the one at top left is a Merganser which is a duck

Thanks Dave!  I'll ask my buddy for clarification, he has the carcasses still. I'll switch it out with another photo

      They're all Cormorants thankfully!

  9. When I still had a boat it pulled to the right with the motor down while getting up on plane, then I trimmed out for neutral steering torque which also seemed to be the best speed and rpm
  10. I usually ran most every tinner with a tiller one hole out from as low as it will go, too much bow lift in a small tiller aluminum and you can't see where you are going
  11. Should have invested in boats or pickups ten years ago, 2 and 3 year old pickups are going for more than I paid for my house
  12. Good choice, even rebuilding the transom , if the motor is an extra long shaft it would still be a mismatch though not as bad. Sailboaters use those , advertize where there is sailboat traffic
  13. Timing, wait for the tug when you backcast before bringing it forward. The vintage Battenkill is a very appropriate matchup if it is the rod in the link I posted, they mentioned in that link it is a slow or moderate action which is easier to cast with than the fast action carbon rods
  14. any letters like HCH or HDH ? those are the line designation if it was built pre 1960 or so could be a 4 or 5 wt looking at this as long as the " Popular " model was made in only 1 line class https://www.traditionalfisherman.com/viewtopic.php?t=5685
  15. Maybe even extra long , looks like 25 inches, did it come from a sailboater ?
  16. Actually, for about 20 years I ran Garcia Ambassadeur 6500's as both musky and downrigger reels, had extra spools as they were a quick swap, 14 pound Trilene XT on the rigger and a heavy braid for musky, no line counters though.
  17. Crankbait shouldn't twist , if the spoon is too fast it will spin instead of roll back and forth, slow down.
  18. The reels make do double duty but the lines might not
  19. Old enough to remember before the weight classification we used letters for fly line sizes. Size A would be a thick heavy line and H was a light line. A 6 weight double taper would be called like a HEH and a weight forward suitable for bass bugs would be like a GAF , probably close to an 8 wt. today, any letters like that on it ? edit: quick search found this
  20. Impressive, but as a forester I often wonder why they take them down piece by piece when there is adequate room to fell them and cut them up on the ground, I can see that method in a built up urban area with buildings, fences and stuff, just seems a lot of added effort. Shame , not many elms left at that size, most succumb to Dutch Elm long before that size.
  21. Thinking it is a kicker/ trolling motor , did you make a high speed run with it in gear and down , I have heard of kickers destroyed like that
