Replacing boat floor... Progress report
dave524 replied to mike rousseau's topic in General Discussion
X2 Google " aluminum boat pressure treated wood " I wouldn't take a chance -
I cheat on chicken pot pie, I put all the filling in a casserole dish and then smear a pot of stove top stuffing over the top as a top crust and bake.

It's a mild abrasive but have cleaned similar things with a little automotive chrome polish or automotive rubbing compound. The mildest abrasive out there is toothpaste.

Sorry, I've done a lot of power rifle hunting in southern Ontario , Fox, Jackrabbits and Coyotes in winter and years of summer ground hog shooting at ranges in excess of 300 yds even and never would I take a shot if I did not know where it would safely impact the ground. High power rifle rounds travelling willy nilly through a southern woodlot just don't qualify as a safe shot to me. It is nearly as irresponsible as firing in the air, just my opinion, but then again I taught the Hunter Education Course.
-
The fact that the bullet passed through a deer is immaterial, the shot is not a safe shot if there is a person beyond the deer. The onus is always on the hunter to make sure that the shot and beyond is safe, just like you would not fire at a deer if there are buildings beyond or where the bullet would cross a roadway if there was a pass through or miss. Criminal intent no but criminal negligence yes. As a former hunter education instructor and voter I find the whole thing disgusting.

Remember when we thought wearing PINK was gay? NF
dave524 replied to misfish's topic in General Discussion
In the sixties the term gay did not mean what it means today, I knew several girls from that time whose first name was Gay and it was even a common surname then. There was a Gay Motor Sales close to where I grew up and a good friend at the time was John Gay, there was no stigma attached to gay at that time. I don't recall being gay or homosexual being a crime but buggery was a crime. -
Been at this long enough to know to back up anything important, heck, I remember backing up a 80 meg Hard Drive on 3 1/2 inch floppies on a DOS machine. I can access any new email online from anywhere, only my main desktop at home has the Email client that stores and then wipes what is there. I have in storage address books and email files from over 10 years ago on an external, when I get a new PC I save the addresses and emails and transfer to the new machine, keeping the zipped type files as insurance.

Guess I'm the only one that still uses an email client like Outlook and keeps my mail on my computer rather than leaving it on some server somewhere out there. Have it set to delete any mail off the server once it is downloaded to my PC.

Lew, blaze orange is not required during the bow season. Really there is no gun season in the area that allows a .270 rifle, there is a controlled hunter number/lottery season of 5 days that allows shotguns and muzzleloaders in the area. That said, we are talking First Nations here and they have their own set of rules, when it comes to methods, season and limits. Edit: I don't believe the regular shotgun season was open at the time so the guy was legal. Actually they suspend the archery season for the duration of the legal gun hunt so there are not archers and gun hunters in the field at the same time.

Then again , horseplay is probably the leading cause of industrial accidents. Seen a few end up with persons hurt. Worked the steel industry since the 70's in the Hammer.
-
I used to teach the safety course for beginning hunters back in the seventies to get their licence , that is just wrong. 300 yds with a 270 is very doable , that is not a problem. Probably the same forces at work here as in the handling of the Nipissing Ghost nets

when they went from simple deductions to using tax credits they lost me, I could do it but I didn't follow the logic
-
I've used TurboTax since I've retired and things got more complicated. Income comes from more sources and then I split pension income with my wife , it figures it all out with the appropriate supplemental forms. I would recommend it as well.

For Floyd fans my audiologist has been with a Pink Floyd cover band for years, they are pretty good too, he is on the steel guitar to start -
I turn 65 in May , I'm still sore from the removal of the age exemption and they want me to bend over again That was my first thought till I realized I've Benhaad.

Thought the rumour of an Argonauts vs Buffalo Bills preseason exhibition game in TO was the best I ran across yesterday morning

Yes , have at least 1 album by Tim Hardin, " Hang on to a Dream " was my fav. Another good one from that era and gone too soon was Phil Ochs -
Believe me, not the first time. Two well known fishing celebrities with regular shows on TV were convicted of charges here in southern Ontario. Seems fishermen have short memories.

great choice matt -
Neat photos, that broken up stretch on the last few pics , is that where the icebreaker went through a few weeks ago?
-
Maybe you should have discussed it with a judge friend, seems the judge did not agree. Seriously, just because something can be proven legal does it really make it ethical ? I keep thinking of the too many men on the ice penalty with this technique, eventually there will be a mistake.

Cliff , do I see a rind on that, I haven't nibbled bacon off a rind in over 50 years.

I use IE too , but for my Laptop I have to use google chrome only for this site to get the quote feature to work when posting. The laptop has a newer IE on it than the desktop where the quote feature is fine with an old IE. Never any problem loading the page but I don't have an add blocker, one thing there is some overlap of the ad banners and thread topic on the member menu.

I was always told the Flatfish with 4 trebles were illegal at one time, back in the days when a quick strike dead bait rig with 2 trebles was also illegal.
