And a positive attitude towards fishing on a cold windy rainy day... With a fall walleye lunatic... Lol I'm driving up from Cornwall so I can meet someone anywhere between Cornwall and Kingston along the 401...

I have a Clam fish trap pro... Love it... It's more of a 1.5 man hut... I can fit everything I need in it... Minnow Pail... Buddy heater... Sonar... 5 gallon pail... Tackle box... Rod caddy... Auger... And has a built in swivel seat... And has a zipper door so you don't have to "break the seal" of snow around the hut on a cold windy day.... I'm 6'4" and I have plenty of room... I've even squeezed a second person in on nasty days... It's tight... And your snuggling pretty close... But I've done it... -
Exploring New Lakes-Rice Walleye/Bass Report

Tasty looking eyes there.... Nice report -
Hey all.... There is a lot of articles out there discussing how to developed a pattern on fish... They discuss lure profile... Vibration... Location... Color.... Scent... Depth.... Speed... Technique.... Etc... I was wondering in your personal experience/opinion what is the most important factor that you adjust when developing a pattern? Most of what I've read says color is very low on the list... But in my experience color is #1 factor to being successful.... Even when carp fishing I find color matters a gear deal... Musky and walleye I use very few lure models but I have 5-10 colors in each of my favorite models... I've seen multiple times musky fishing running 2-3 of the same lure model in 3 different colors and boating 2-3-4 musky on only one of the colors... And walleye it can be laughable how they only want one color... I've seen plenty of days where one color was out fishing all others 4-1... I had a day where we got 17 walleye... 14 on one color and 3 on the other.... And night walleye color is even more important from what I've seen... I have 2 night colors that "most" days can't be touched... What do you guys (and girls) think?

Thanks everyone for your help... Through a few conversations I've gathered the information I needed.... This site is truly amazing and when push comes to shove its inspiring how many people are willing to open up with personal experiences to help other members they've never even met in person... Thank everyone...

X 2 I sold my vex to help pay for my humminbird 597 ci hd di and portable pack.. No regrets... More options and built in GPS... And all my waypoints from soft water because I use this unit in my boat.... Vex has a good product... But it's a single purpose tool...

I just want to say thanks for all the PMs... It truly appreciate everyone that took the time to help me out... Hopefully I get the info I need...

I don't see this as effective... That's only about $120 per fine... That's a pretty small amount if these "anglers" are selling fish or keeping a LOT in the freezer to feed their families the rest of the year.... I slipped up in a local tribe one year... I thought the boundary was bridge A but it was bridge B... I had no fish.... There were others fishing the area before I arrived... Literally first troll... $250 fine... And there are no signs to show that your changing zones on these bridges... Nor is it in writing what bridge is the boundary... Just the FMZ maps... So $120 per fine in my eyes is a joke for the blatant poaching occurring on Great Lakes tribs... I would imagine it cost a lot more then $10,000 to perform this blitz.... So a few get a slap on the wrist today and back at it tomorrow.... And our dollars are down the tubes... "Most" know they're in the wrong... And these fines won't stop a thing unless they occur A LOT more regularity.... Honest people will learn... The rest will continue their ways... Second ofences should have HUGE FINES... That way when caught the first time they are aware that if they get caught again it will be a very large fine...miggt scare people enough to read up... Anyways... My 2 cents....

Hello... Just wondering if any of our regulars here are financial advisors in Ontario... I have a couple quick questions I'd love to ask VIA PM... I'd really appreciate the help... Thanks

Awesome... You even got eaters in there... That can be tricky in quinte... Lol I'm absolutely itching to get up there.... These reports aren't helping me wait till late November.... Thanks for the report....

When I was little I never used a float for crappie fishing.... Ultra light with a small tube or Swimbait reeled slowly... Key was the lightest jig possible that could be cast the distance needed...

Last time "I" posted a pic of an accidental sturgeon I got reamed... I know they're protected and closed year round... But when they end up being my biggest catch of my life I'll take a pic every time... I've caught a fair amount now and only take pics if it's a new PB... Here you go... No slamming please.... The fish was only outta water for a few seconds.... And it was an accidental catch... I got a 27" walleye just a minute earlier in the exact same spot.... Mods if this turns into a bashing just shut her down ok... That's a 60" tape for reference....

Not for this site Chris....

Hey all... The fall walleye bite is well underway... So the search is on to find biting fish... Last night was one of the most mixed bags of fish as well as techniques I've had in a while... But it was the various techniques that got me some sweet fish... I started off throwing a chunky Swimbait... I connected with a feisty 23 inch eye within a few minutes.... About 10 minutes after that I somehow managed to snag a 45" musky in the tail.... After a long battle she was ok after a quick water release.... Just lucky the water was cool... Then I tried trolling through the area I got the walleye casting... Bang... I got smoked... It didn't feel big be it was taking runs and peeling line... I had no idea what it was... The I saw it... Baaaaaaaa... Sheepshead.... I'm outta here...lol Them I went searching for new fish/spots.... I went to a spot we have got few walleye in the past but we hadn't "figured" the spot out yet... The sonar lit up... I dropped down a shiny offering jigging vertical and on the 3rd or 4th lift I got smoked... And it was heavy... I thought right away that I might have found another sturgeon holding area and accidentally got one of them... Nope... Get the fish to the surface.... 27" walleye.... Awesome!!! Quick release... Drop my line again.... Couple more jigs and bang.... Another heavy fish.... Unfortunately this time is was a sturgeon..... After a 30-45 minute epic battle on 6lb fire line on a 6'3" med light spinning rod.... A huge beast came to the surface.... This dinosaur measured in at 57" without a tail pinch... Longest fish I've ever boated... After that I picked up a buddy and did the night troll... Found a new spot... And finished the day with 9 walleye.... 1 giant sturgeon... 1 sheepshead... 1 musky... 1 smally... Also saw the St.Lawrence River Institute out electro shocking for fish... Eels I think... Great to see $$$ being spent in our area... Fun and interesting day... Sorry I don't have pics...

Any specific species you want to target?

I did.... Like $80 brokerage on a $200 rod...

I've only been going for a few years now... But have yet to be skunked.... I've stuck with planer boards and deep taildancers... Reef runners... Manns 20+ and 30+....With a bit of core or a snap weight or flatline.... Perch-purple-clown seem to work well for me.... But this year I might try our shallow water bottom banging trolling up there and see what happens... In the fall we pound in 12-18 feet of water running cranks into the riverbed... I just don't think there's enough current in Quint to position the fish tight to structure like we have on the st lawrence river... Maybe inside the bay where it's skinny there'll be enough current to come close to home... Lol It'll be interesting if it pays off in numbers like it does here.... But Quinte sized... Oh baby....

More pics then words in that post.... 39 pics and 38 words... With pics like that words aren't really needed... Multi species master....

Is fishing trout beads essentially flossing/snagging?
mike rousseau replied to Jarfish's topic in General Discussion
That's what it seams like to me... No different then a carp rig.... Or a spoon with a bait less dropper hook..
