Also depends on location... If you hook a smally on a sand flat in 20 feet of water you can take your time... You hook the same fish in timber you'll wanna get him out quick to avoid snags... In open water I baby big fish.... If they feel big I assume they are barely hooked...

Depends on the gear... You don't wanna be horsing a pig with a finess hook....

That happened to me once.... Luckily there wasn't a steep ditch on the side on the highway... I had to put my truck in the rubarb to avoid a transport head on... And he have me the finger.... I coulda killed him

I use the baits with both if I can A small Colorado on up the shaft and a big willow on the end.... One silver and one gold.... For depth control I have different weights....

Just nature taking its course... My brother shot a deer close to Christmas this year... Due to the deep snow with an ice crust on top the front of the deers legs were raw and wounded.... Survival of the fittest.... Lots of snow is bad for some... But think about this spring.... Should be great for fish spawning in creeks and rivers... And maybe bring up water levels...? Nice pic Lew..... Must be nice to sip your coffee and watch that scene....

One piece of advice tho.... If you plan on trolling like this making bottom contact regularity.... Then troll "rod in hand"..... Even the smallest weed or piece of moss can throw your lure out of tune and out of the strike zone...

Cool video... Most deep diving cranks with long lips are good for avoiding snags as well... I started off trolling 30 foot taildancers slamming bottom in 15 feet of water..... Successfully....

For 80lb why not crimp it...?

I'd be very surprised to hear that tabs allowed you to plane out a 14 footer with 4 people in it... That's a lot if weight for a small boat and 25hp.... I'd imagine that's over your weight limit on that boat as well..... ...

If we do fish again let's do it in the summer or early fall... Not Dec 15th... Lol

I'm sure I can find a day again... Maybe Andrew will come this time too...
