  1. sorry for your loss. That pup lived for many years. It was his time to chase rainbows and stars in the sky.
  2. GREAT DEAL... have to go check now. Wouldn't mind a spare
  3. I come from the west but there is a shop at Markham road and Sheppard ( between markham road and McCowan on sheppard. In the timmy's plaza) Its hard to fish if you don't have minnows there.
  4. I got a Milwaukee for xmas this year just for ice fishing. I have it paired with an 8" auger from Bass pro and it works beautifully. My buddy has a strikemaster gas auger and it takes me 1/2 the time to drill through 8" of ice. I've drilled hole(S) in 13" of ice like butter. May want to look into doing that instead of an Ion. Much lighter option also.
  5. Hi Kris, I'm pretty sure I have some stuff I can donate to you. Let me take a look and put some stuff in a box for you. I work in Mississauga and also have an office in Scarborough. We can make arrangements on pick up. Nick
  6. best tip for finding your lure in deep water with a Lowrance is to Feather the lure down until you see it on the screen. This way you can keep the lure in the cone. You can not just flip the bail wait for it to hit the bottom and think it will show up. If you do that and you want to kick your lowrance to the curb I will be happy to take it off your hands for $100 PM me if you want my set up doc for my X67 Misfish. Most Lowrance's work the same. Nick
  7. congrats!! Love my Lowrance and Ice pack. I would recommend that you take a few videos' of the screen as you'll go through withdrawal during the days you can't go out and when the ice gets thin in spring.
  8. I have 2 boys 6 and 4. In the beginning I would clean the fish and fry it up for them. I made this a special moment with them as it was a treat to have Fresh fish. I told them its not easy to catch fish and it took work and patience. When I asked if they wanted to come and fish with them they screamed "YEAH" ( very proud daddy moment). When we got out on the water I told them that they can help catch dinner and we'll cook their catch. This is where I taught them not to keep the very little ones and not to keep the very big ones ( did have that conversation to much later). They looked at fish as a food source but knew that they were living creatures. They haven't help me clean them yet as they are still too little but they will watch. I teach them the anatomy of the fish and how it works. They always like seeing what the fish ate, as did I when I was a kid and my dad did the same thing. Ease your daughter into it. Don't just show her fish guts and fish heads. If she understands that its a food source she'll accept the process it takes to put it on the table. nick
  9. Renewed. Now lets see how long it takes to get the Actual card.
  10. my condolences to your family. Very hard to put into words your feelings when something like this happens. Nick
  11. its not recommended as the stuffing will prevent some of the circulation of the heat nor will it be cooked to the point where its safe ( That's what they say in the book) I normally cook my stuffing separate and just add drippings. BTW the drippings from the bird need to be heated up prior to serving as it goes into a drip tray and it doesn't keep cooking. I should mention that clean up took my 3 minutes ( paper towel and BBQ scrub brush) I'm thinking that I should bring this out on hardwater this year. May be a fun way to make new friends on the lake
  12. made a turkey on with my new toy and it was very good. I tested it out with a chicken on the Saturday and it was the moistest chicken I've ever eaten! Sunday I put the 16lb turkey in and after 2 1/2 hours it was done! I cooked it till the breast read 165*. The skin was golden brown and crispy. I've had my fair share of Deep Fried Turkeys, I would rate this a more of a rotisserie turkey but with a crispy skin. No oily film on your lips. Next time I would probably cook the bird till 160* and let it tent for about 30 minutes. The dark meat was a little over cooked but still very moist. Overall a great investment and a great recommendation from Hoppy. NIck
  13. after reading this I went and bought one myself.... going to test it on Sunday. Looking forward to hearing your results Dan. Nick

  21. Now I know the reason for the call Big Cliff! That freaking SUCKS!!! Hope I'm able to help you out with this. I have cameras in and out of my house. I keep my boat inbetween the house right below my camera. I had some guy walk to the side of my house check out my boat and leave shortly after. I put a sign up on the seat of my boat saying "smile I got you on camera and your plates" No one has come to "check out" my boat since. Nick
  22. I had this discussion with my neighbor last month and this was his solution http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Coupler/Fulton/FHDPB330301.html I haven't used is before but this would be the only way he could fit his 16ft alum. in his garage. He's planning on installing it late October so if you haven't found a solution yet i'll let you know how it goes. nick
