  1. I agree 100%. from that range there is SOOOO much room for error and missing. If your "hunting" you should always shoot to kill.
  2. Interesting, I've caught many fish that have those black spots but i've never come across those little yellow grubs.
  3. I was cooking for the kids not the IN-Laws....
  4. Thanks Nipfisher! I guess "if" i decide to keep any fish I know that it won't cause any issues. Too bad I had to throw it away.
  5. don't know if anyone else has come across this. I was able to keep a couple of decent size perch on the weekend. I got the kids all excited about daddy making fish crisp for them for lunch. I fillet them both and when I went to wash the fillets I noticed 2 fillets ( from the same fish) had what looked like little Kernals inbedded in the flesh. I popped one out like a zit and out shot a worm like creature. I normally don't keep fish at all but I wanted to cook a nice snack for them. I ended up throwing it away ( i wasn't going to serve my kids something I would have to work up the courage to eat). Is this normal? could I have eaten it without anything bad happening? I felt terrible throwing it away because it was a total waste and I could have just let the perch go to live another day. Nick
  6. There's a Trout pond in Stouffville. (BURD's i believe) that you can take your family. I agree with everyone that even with your wife there it only takes a split second for something terrible to happen to your daughter. I would recommend a PFD for the little one is a MUST even if she's not close to the water. The Fish will always be there but your daughter is irreplaceable. Be safe.
  7. IPhone Topographic Maps Canada - Free and doesn't use data. You download once and its stored Pudding Camera - its in Korean but one of the best Photo apps i've played with. Its not hard to figure out. CamScanner - I use this for work all the time. If you have a contract/paperwork that you need to send and can't find a fax you take a picture and it converts it into a .PDF and you can email it. ( be careful cuz it does use a lot of data) Skype - avoid Long distance charges when there is Free WiFi available Hope these help everyone out a bit. Nick
  8. I have had both. I am using an IPHONE 4 now. It really depends on what busines you are in. If you are in a business for example I.T. Iphone may be a little difficult to type cuz the auto correct will drive you nuts.( does not like accornyms) If you are in sales, Account management or even exec. I would reccommend that you go with the Iphone. It's great at showing documents, keeping your travel itinerary in order and not to mention the 10,000 apps you can entertain yourself with. the Wifi on the IPHONE is amazing. Very easy to connect so if you have a chance connect to WiFi whenever possible to lighten the load on your usage. I switched and I was a VERY loyal BB user. be patient with the keyboard. Best tip i got was don't think about whether or not your going to press the right keys. Just type ( touch) it as if it was a keyboard and you'll be fine. I actually type faster on the Iphone than i ever did on my Crackberry. Hope this helps. Nick
  9. hahahaha... good point.. just checked it out myself. You save the taxes thou...lol. I'm sure if you come home with one you'll have a "get out of jail for free" card forsure from the Mrs... I have an IPhone ( switched from a Blackberry) I think its just as good but in a compact version. Nick
  10. they are pretty awesome. It is a little too big for my liking but it is amazing if you have access to WIFI. I am on a golf forum and one of the memembers there is selling one. I have attached the description below. I've dealt with this guy before and he's a solid guy. He's in Markham thou so it may be a bit of a drive. If you want me to respond to him I can always relay the message. I will open this only to Dave for now as he was the OP, but if Dave passes i'll act as the messager for someone else. I AM NOT THE ONE SELLING IT so i don't have any details other than what is below. Looking to sell my iPad 32GB with WiFi. Comes with the official Apple case and a PowerSupport USA screen protector. Both the case and screen protector have been on the iPad since it came out of the box. OS is fully up to date. No scratches or dents of any sort on the device or case. Condition is easily a 9.9/10. Comes with charger, USB cable and the original retail box. Asking $650 Nick
  11. i have looked and looked and looked and was never able to find it.. I would love to see it. I think its an urban legend!
  12. Awesome... thank you for that..
  13. you could Check these guys out http://www.g2angling.com/ Jamie ( Stoty ) is a nice guy. Haven't met the other guys on G2.
  14. Rest in peace Sgt. Russell. I'm sure his son will see later on that his dad was a hero and his efforts were recognized by everyone he was trying to protect.
  15. sounded like a lot of fun! I was trying to weasel out but failed with the wife... Is the bite any good after 8:00pm? I may be able to sneak out on Saturday night after the kids are asleep. Nick
  16. Thank you. Maybe I'll go out late night when the kids and the wife are sleeping.
  17. I wanted to thank everyone that on the board for their help with finding a hut. I booked with http://www.stilesfishhuts.com/ pretty much at the eleventh hour. fit 7 people in a 6 man hut. ( 4 guys and 3 ladies) fished from Viewlake from about 10:30 to 3:30. Steve is a good guy. Had us set up and ready to go the minute we got there. Like all of you said he told us before hand that the bite doesn't happen till sunset or really early morning. He offered to let us stay as long as we wanted ( nice of him to do so) The fishing action was constant the minute the lines hit the water, if you were okay with catching little dinks ( biggest was 6"). It was fun for the first timers that were with us so atleast we didn't get any complaining. Over all a good day for everyone. It beats changing diapers and I made it home to watch the packers win!! There were photo's but I don't think a 6" perch deserves to be displayed with all the other photo's on here. Like putting a stick person drawing next to a Picasso. Nick
  18. Called AL.. REALLY nice man! He doesn't have any 6 man huts ( have 3 ladies that are 1st timers and can't bear to be apart from their friends and their boyfriends ) so still searching. If I go with just the boys I will definitely get a hut from Al. Really reasonible prices. $30 per person is awesome. Just went to LeBaron and got some tackle for the weekend. CAN'T WAIT!!! Nick
  19. thank you everyone for your replies. As I suspect, it probably isn't the best time to go out but the MRS is giving me some free time and I'm going to make the best of it. A bad day on the water is better than a good day changing diapers... . Let me give the guys you sugguested a call and see how I do. Hopefully there will be a report on Monday from me. Nick
  20. Okay so I found out Paul is not renting this year. He's taking some time off. Anyone help me out with renting a hut in Scugog?
  21. Just wanted to see if anyone has had a chance to rent from Paul's Ice Huts? I've been given a few hours of "free" time from the Mrs and wanted to try my luck. I haven't been on Hardwater for about 6 years now so I'm pretty excited to be out. Going out with 6 other people and only planning to fish from 10 - 5. If you know anyone else let me know. Any feed back would be great. Thanks! Nick
  22. That is a very nice offer. I have lost a close friend to a drunk driver running her over. I will gladly split the cost of your ticket with SlowPoke... You did the right thing! ( sorry SlowPoke for stealing your thunder on this Thread....) Nick
  23. My hands get like that also. It may happen again.. I usually take a Claritin prior to going out and you'll find that your skeeter/bug bites won't itch as much. Glad to hear it wasn't anything serious!
  24. My condolences to you and your Family Flex.
  25. This one... it came with the toy..
