  1. The Penn 209 used to troll for muskie eh. If you use it every weekend it is a one year reel at best. The small gear ratio is a pain. Use an 8' or longer rod to help keep the line tight. The drag is also a pain. A small movement on the drag and it goes from light to full drag. However it does have enough drag power. Usable reel yes. Would i use it for trophy fish no.
  2. Why do bears hate gardening.
  3. Yep nice camper. It sounds like you had a hell of a 15mins.
  4. I have been using an auto battery for cranking for the last five or so years with zero problems.
  5. I don't like the idea that the glide slicks are only 2" (or so)wide. Why do i have a 6" wide bunk when only 2" is going to support the boat?
  6. I have not tried those ones. I have used just a heavy snap swivel (300lb or so) without any problems.
  7. I aint going but good luck to you walleye fishermen. Go get them Mike the Walleye.
  8. Great report. Johnny Cat.
  9. I hear they taste good. But i cant get past the look of them. I aint going to eat one. Good size fish WTG.
  10. Did you ask if they had any more in the back? That's what i had to do.
  11. I have tried the suction cup before and it kept falling off. That would be ok if you fish water under 50' deep.
  12. Heads up people. Canadian tire has the abu rod and reel on sale for $29.99. The reel is worth $30 on its own. The rod is worth $25. Go get them.
  13. mmm Starcraft nice boat.
  14. How much do you want for it?
  15. Nice fish Rob.
  16. Where is the boat located?
  17. Home Depot
  18. Great report Joey. Nice fish too. The smelt seem small.
  19. Sorry to flog this post. I looked at some trailers yesterday and I cant find what i am looking for. I need to have the skeg 2" off the ground when tilted fully down. I don't need drop axles because i want 12" wheels. The axle only has 9" of ground clearance with 12" wheels. My boat will have to go between the fenders to be able to go lower then it is now. The bottom of my boat is 60" wide. My trailer has the skeg 8" off of the ground when tilted fully down. Maybe they don't make 1200lb trailers like this. If it ##$%35^%$# me off any more i will build my own but that will cut into my fishing time. Thanks for the help so far.
  20. Skeeter i have 12" tires on it now and i aint going any smaller. Good idea though. "Shorelander makes a nice low pro trailer as well as easy hauler." Thanks Bondar. I am going to check them out.
  21. If the boat is 6"lower then i will need 6" less water to launch. Thanks Fisherman i will check them out.
  22. I would like to get a low boat trailer. Right now i can trailer my boat with the motor all the way down. I would like to get a trailer that is about 6" lower. Is this a good idea? Where can i get one of these trailers near barrie. Here are a few pics to show what i am talking about.
  23. If you dont get that boat ready your going to have a lot more then cabin fever.
  24. I cant tell from the pics if you can remove the middle seat. Do you think the boat was set up this way when it was new? Cable steer can be run down the one side then one cable goes all the way to the port side then back to the motor. If the console and middle seat have been added on to the boat then you should be ok to take it out. I cant tell from the pics.
  25. Yep thats the one.
