  1. Congrats to Mark Kulik and Mike Jackson, both great guys. I also heard that a few of the Canadian boys did pretty good inthe FLW tourney on Champlain this past weekend.
  2. Another great read John. You're getting right up there with "Moosebunk" status. When I see a post by you its time to get a coffee and sit down to read and enjoy. Only difference is that Moosebunk has slightly more fish pictures!
  3. Geez, sounds like an OFNCer Community! No wonder you like where you live so much. That's a great story and like the article said, not like all the crap you see on the news. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Cheers to one of the finest people I hardly know. All the best Roy.
  5. Those pictures explain a few things. Poor cop!!
  6. Its good to see the bouncing blue boy again!
  7. Totally agree with MB. My son has taken his kids out of school for up to two weeks to Florida every year. They always have the teachers blessing saying they will learn more on their trip than in school......and that's for Florida!! Take it while you can Stan, they don't give those years back.
  8. Seriously, some very good points being made.
  9. bump Don't forget!! Still #7
  10. The public launch is pretty brutal, like others have said, lots of bugs, long narrow lane to ramp. Lots of rocks and shallow at ramp, but doable. Can be a gong show in there. Having said all that, that's where I launched last time. I believe there are two campgrounds on the Northwestern side of the lake that would have better ramp facilities although you would have to pay. Last year there was a beer barrel a long distance off Avery point. Make sure you go around it!!!
  11. Way to go Bill!!!! You got me excited just reading the post! And I know what you mean about the grin!!
  12. Met my brother in Edmonton last year. Did Jasper, Banff, Glacier National Park (states) and the Road to the Sun, through Yellowstone to Jackson hole, back through the other side of Yellowstone, Bear Tooth Pass, Custer State Park, Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Mountain, Field of Dreams. An unbelievable trip and experience. Took 8 days though and that was in high gear. I would highly recommend any of these and would be glad to supply extra info if interested.
  13. Thanks Ned! Much appreciated. Sounds like a perdect launch spot.
  14. Thanks Smokey. We were looking into that one, but I believe someone else is launching a tournament there later in the day (just about when we would be coming out). Launching fees are not an issue.
  15. The Bass Pro Associates have a tournament on Tri-Lakes this Wednesday. Could anyone recommend a good launch site for the tournament? We'll have about 15 boats. Any help is appreciated.
  16. Nice fish Steve. You should be a shoo-in for the BPS Associate Classic!!
  17. Great post Corey, Congrats on the PBs Looks like you found a good pattern............ your Dad eating bananas (I can't believe he did that) and you wearing your pajamas in the boat!!!
  18. A poem I found here on the board a few years ago: I am a fisherman. It's not something I do, it is who I am. Fishing is not an escape. It is where I belong, where I am supposed to be. It is not a place, but a lifelong journey. It is a passage my father showed me, and that I will show others. When you understand this, you will know me, and we will fish together.
  19. Great story. Thaks Brian. Sorry I missed last night.
  20. I remember that post. Sends shivers down my back just reading it. I thought I was the only one that did that
  21. Interesting to see the Dad thing mentioned so often. My father passed away when I was two years old. I grew up surrounded by all these pictures of him on fishing trips holding up fish. When I was about 7, my brother who is 13 years older than me, started taking me fishing. I think there is some sort of draw to fishing, that when I fish I can relate to my Dad. Maybe that's one reason I love fishing with my boys and now my grandson and granddaughters. My brother, his son, and my two boys will be returning to the town of Trent River for a family fall Musky trip. Fishing the same waters as my father did over 60 years ago. Whether fishing with family, friends or by myself, fishing takes me to a very special place where I find peace and tranquility like nowhere else. I think that's enough self analysis for today
  22. Great report Mike. By the way, welcome to Grimsby. We'll have to get together for a coffee sometime.
