  1. I have some signifigant water line stains on the boat and motor and was wondering what to use that isn't too harsh on the paint or trailer. hot water and dish soap isn't making a dent in the stains so need something stronger. Also tried engine degreaser on the motor and no luck. Thanks
  2. hi all. I'm looking for some plastic or aluminum bezel material to mount a couple rocker switches. Does anyone know where I could find this in plastic, aluminum or even a small piece or carbon fiber? Thanks
  3. Terrova 55 or 80 for your boat. I find it much more responsive than the power drive, easier to stow/deploy and has a much better pedal. If you go ipilot you lose the pedal with power drive. Terrova you can use both.
  4. asics gt 2000 gtx runners are waterproof and very comfortable. I have the older model and they are great. ecco makes nice hikers that are gore tex.
  5. hi all, I'm looking for a place that makes custom boat covers and possibly Bimini tops. preferred in peterborough or sw ontario area. If you have a recommendation please let me know. Thanks
  6. 27 series deep cycle from costco will be a good choice along with a 30 - 45lb minnkota with digital maximizer technology. Great battery life along with variable speed. Traxxis are nice models.
  7. I'm looking at buying a gas pressure washer for general use. Looks like lots of options in the 4-500 range but not sure where to start looking. Thinking around 2500-3000 psi. Not sure if they vary significantly noise wise so quieter is preferred. Also hoping to find one that has or can have a smaller gun attachment similar to a regular garden hose gun or a bit bigger(maybe this can be purchased separately at PA etc?). Most I've seen have a 2yr warranty. I figured some folks have them on here, so looking for your recommendation. Thanks
  8. I would double check, in this guide it suggests trailer brakes are required over 1000lbs http://www.gmc.com/content/dam/GMC/global/master/nscwebsite/en/home/Vehicles/Shared_resource/pdf/2012-gmc-trailering-guide.pdf It also weighs quite a bit for being pushed with a 3L engine. My not try a 2012 Escape, they are clearing them out now as the new model just came out. 3.0L 4x4 is good on gas (8L/100 on the highway)but I wouldn't want to tow much over 2000lbs with it even though its rated for 3500. Depends what you want to tow now and how much down the road.
  9. Lake huron gets my vote too. The pinery has a nice beach and isn't much further than pt stanley
  10. I use Shell 91 as it seems to work well for me. I'm not sure if it still contains no ethanol (see the sticker only at some stations). btw Stabil additives (Red and marine) are on sale at CT this week. I use the marine throughout the year and the red over winter.
  11. That is awesome and it really shows what commitment can do. Its also a big commitment to not revert to old habits going forward. Great Job!
  12. 6'3 medium light xfast. for heavier jigs and weeds the medium might be a better option. St croix legend tournament or avid series are a great choice. braided line.
  13. check around for rebates etc, likely looking at 2000-3000 for a good unit installed. I would suggest you buy a reputable brand and ensure that the warranty is a manufacturers P&L warranty, not just the local dealer's P&L. That way you can choose who fixes it and if someone happens to go out of business you're still covered.
  14. Get a minn kota with digital maximizer and it will last much longer on a charge if you aren't going at full speed all the time
  15. Good advice here. Way too much in interest costs. I would be concerned about towing ability as well given the 1200lb capacity.
  16. Is it missing one wire?
  17. Great post!. Looks fairly straightforward on the chronarch you worked on.
  18. See if Novacks can put you in touch with the right folks. They sell tons of them bud.
  19. I usually take mine off on long trips
  20. Cliff I'm so glad that everything is working well on the boat now. You couldn't ask for better company when stopping in at Cliff's house and look forward to another visit soon. The special seems to be working quite well I am hooked!
  21. I've had good luck with my turning point propeller was very reasonable
  22. daves reel repair in the states has many different options. What about tranx or te700?
  23. what a difference down there
  24. What about port burwell to stanley? Or do you have to go out several miles?
  25. The full transom model takes considerable effort to paddle, but doable. much nicer with a small electric or gas on there. The 14ft sportspal full transom can also hold a 3hp motor.
