  1. Escape V6 4x4 might fit the bill and most say its not too bad on gas. It can tow 3500lbs. 2009's and later have the 6 speed so that will give you better mileage. Lots of them out there at reasonable prices. It may be too cozy for a family of 5 though.
  2. warning - bit of language in some parts. Ricky isn't sure who the big guy is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dusUTpWmM_U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuLjGoLCshM
  3. Cartoon: Charlie Brown Christmas Real: National Lampoons Christmas vacation Trailer Park Boys Xmas Special
  4. That is base model not insight and rebate is lowrance not dealer specific it just has to be a gen1 unit.
  5. Hard to beat Jocelyn's prices. As you said anywhere else online is $950CDN for base model and I'm sure he'd try and match anything you can find. You did lots of homework and congrats on your decision!
  6. I know a few people with the Ecoboost as well and they are really happy with it. What about the new Ford Explorer? Really nice design and with the 3.5 it gets decent mileage and can tow. The Edge could also be an option.
  7. You should run a marine rated oil Rizzo.

  9. If you get a GM with the 5.3 and the 3.08 (I think) gears it should be decent on gas. It was rated around 30mpg as well with those gears. Depends how much you need to tow.
  10. Nice job Rizzo!
  11. Some folks sell them here for great prices. I like the yamamoto ones best but they are not cheap
  12. I've never seen a delay on an LCD either. You see the fish in real time and you can see the slightest movement on your lure right on the graph and there is no delay on the screen!
  13. Exactly. You can tune them out if you tweak some of the settings and with HDS you can also switch to 83khz which should eliminate the noise all together but 200khz is better for right below you. I've never used flasher mode on an HDS before....once you use the graph you never go back.
  14. At that price point I'd be looking at the St Croix ice rods with the selectable spring indicator system! I don't think they are really for huge walleye or lakers, but they are a great rod for smaller walleye and panfish. Fit it with a spinning reel that has a graphite spool (such as an Abu cardinal series). http://www.stcroixrods.com/product/legend_ice_rods
  15. I'd buy a new one if it were me, the speed improvement alone should be worth it IMO. You never know, maybe the pricing will be good.
  16. http://www.thehulltruth.com/marine-electronics-forum/390616-hds-gen2-world-wide-announcement.html This would explain the big rebates at the end of the year. Good to see its getting quicker hardware!
  17. Thanks for the input. Talked to a nice person at bridge yaughts in pt dover that were really helpful and would consider doing business there someday from first impressions.
  18. thanks for the tip checked online and found a place with in $200 of usa prices which is very good. its crazy the depreciation on motors though tough to justify new aside from warranty bit as long as you really check it over
  19. Thanks guys after speaking with a few of you I called some suggested places and got the info I needed. Definitely worth asking about dealers if you aren't sure!
  20. hey all I wanted to give a Tohatsu / Nissan dealer a call to research some pricing. I recall someone posted that they had a contact in Mississauga that sold them at really good prices. I see that pisces marine also carries them around the area. If you have some suggestions let me know! Thanks.
  21. Nice catch Rizzo! I'll have my resume to you by EOB
  22. Check this guide as well http://smartercharger.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/ctek_mus3300_troubleshooting_guide.pdf
  23. Make sure the connections are tight on the battery and on the quick-connect.
  24. Awesome report thanks for sharing!
  25. I don't think the 332C has ethernet so you are only able to do NMEA 2000 networking. You need to power the NMEA network with either a NMEA power node or the 332C power cable if it has a NMEA power lead on it. Only connect one power source to the NMEA network. Call Jocelyn at Angling Outfitters he has all the parts to build a network. I'm not 100% sure if you can just run a NMEA cable from one unit to the other without T's and terminators even if you are powering from the 332C. I would suggest a LMS-500 series unit or HDS. Here's an idea of what the NMEA 2000 can give you - borrowed from this thread:
