Tupelo I know you're enjoying your truck; anyone else picked up an ecodiesel in the ram or grand cherokee and can share their experience?

Relocating. 5 years on central rainy river
scugpg replied to manitoubass2's topic in General Discussion
Very cool story . Good luck up the river and will have to say hi next time I'm up that way! That your boat? Looks like a 142 or 162bt. -
The boat i referenced @ 22mph - dry weight was over 500lbs not including gas, bow mount, batteries, tackle, people etc and can get over 23mph at times. Safely raising the motor to optimal height on the transom and experimenting with props (using a tiny tach) helped optimize the setup. In small short heavy boats they are also tough to get on plane as they can be very stern heavy. There may be circumstances where you require more than one prop depending on the load situation in the boat as it can vary the top end motor rpms significantly and you could over rev. These are great and a place in Mississauga is a Canadian distributor http://tinytach.com/gasoline.php

What style of boat is it? (3 bench or full floor/casting deck etc?). I have seen up to 22mph/35kmh with that motor in a 14ft with floor, casting deck, bow mount motor and two batteries. Similar person weight in boat.

I guess they make me a bit nervous with the grounding needed and being metal. The weight would be double too?

Thanks -nothing there close unfortunately. Checked moeller and scepter too nothing that will fit.

Hi folks, I'm looking to see if there is a manufacturer in Ontario that builds plastic fuel tanks for an in-floor application in a boat. Looking to replace my existing plastic tank so would have specs to start with. Looking for 8 to 12 gallons and low permeating plastic if possible. Nothing off the shelf aftermarket will fit from the specs I've seen. I can source one from the US but trying to keep costs down with shipping etc. Thanks

Nevwr had issues with the CT goodyear nordics but don't do a ton of driving

My rig is very similar to what you are after. Tow with a AWD v6 escape. Been tracking mileage lately...get 13-14 l/100 the city, mid 8's - mid 9's on highway depending on speed limit, on the highway and 10-11 while towing. Pulls it out of launches very easily.

Very cool. Think i know the area on 11 where the pinewood enters into Rainy. Congrats!

It was only a matter of time I guess,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, TRUCK ME

The ram diesels are selling very well. Believe they put the 2015 GC diesels builds on hold for a bit to keep up to demand on the rams. -
I would keep the 25, ensure you have it propped correctly and the motor is the correct mounting height in relation to the transom to get the most out of it. I'd never go back to a 2 stroke.

Yup angling outfitters. What unit are you looking for?
-
For comparison sake I recently towed around a 950lb load, mostly 401/35 on the trip with a v6 escape 4x4 and got 10.3 l/100 kms. So the mileage your getting is awesome with the big truck and much bigger load!

Wildwood is likely the easiest option for pike and bass in the area especially by boat. Hard to say what the water level and quality is like with all the rain and you should check of they have started the fall drain yet.

Hi all, Next year we are hoping to have a small family venue for 20-30 people in the kawarthas next year and are looking for suggestions. Mostly interested in Stony/Pigeon/Lower Buckhorn lake areas but open to others. Must have a spot to have a boat at the dock. We've already checked out viamede and westwood resorts so looking for some more resort type suggestions; and also open to a large cottage setup in those areas to have the venue. Let me know if you have any suggestions or feel free to pm. Thanks again

Need to be much more careful at the launch with the composite boards as the boat will slide off much easier!

Keeping mold out of carpeted lockers on the boat
scugpg replied to spincast's topic in General Discussion
Home hardware sells 10% cleaning vinegar. May be a safer option and still kill the mold? Its around $5 a jug. -
You could see what the price of ms word is to purchase on its own instead of renewing 365 if that is an option.

Home Depot carries them. Arrow brand but if i recall the packaging isn't that obvious to differentiate them between the regular ones. Although this link appears to clearly state stainless http://m.homedepot.ca/Product/productdetails.aspx?ProductId=900847&lang=EN

Yup cedar but try and find some that hasn't been treated with anything. When I did mine they were around $12 bucks a board.

I had a chance to drive the v8 hemi gc. Felt very nice but to be honest didn't feel that much more peppy than the diesel. Believe the 0-60 on the diesel is about a second slower than the hemi. Still thinking about the diesel but wondering about all the short 5 to 15k short trips I do. Is there any concern about not getting the diesel warmed up often if I'm mostly doing city runs? The in town torque with the diesel would be nice as its around 400 ft lbs at 2000rpm. Believe you need to push the hem much harder to get close to that. The hd brakes come with both diesel and hemi. Both motors add about 300+lbs to the truck over pentastar. Also checked average fuel costs over the last few years and not much difference between diesel and gas. Also believe the hemi is recommended to run 89 octane?? Some handy sites: Caa gas calculator to compare vehicles http://caa.ca/car_costs/ Average fuel prices http://www.energy.gov.on.ca/en/fuel-prices/

Interesting would have thought it made a decent difference over the 3.42s especially hwy.
