Run some weedeater line through the tell take first. They clog often. My honda 50 has such a small telltale that I have to clean it every couple of trips. It's worth a shot!

SAGE GSH 1136-3LLB Guide spacing and sizes
porkpie replied to ripsomelips's topic in General Discussion
Can't help with the spacing, I just hand rods to a builder and then give them money, but you'll love the blank! I've owned 2 over the last 20 years and still fish one regularily! -
24 to 48 inches. Generally around 36. Never tried to run one above the other, let us know how it works!

Try to find something on nippissing last minute. I take my kids there just to slam numbers. Decent beaches as well.

Technologies change, and so do the times. Many years ago I fished steelhead most often with 3lb lead and very soft rods, and while I still fish fairly soft rods I don't often fish less than 8lb lead, and I'll do ten if I can get away with it. By all means use what makes you comfortable but I put lots in the boat as is, so I'll be sticking with it!

One of the guys at our hunt camp started bringing in a traeger for deer and moose a few years back. I have eaten a metric crap ton of smoked stuffed jalapeños and various other poppers and tasty good stuff. Everything has been fantastic, but I have no idea how easy it is to operate as I'm usually half lit by that time of the night. The food tastes great though!!

People kayak all over buckhorn. Just have a flag mounted for crossing channels and take lots of water.

There is a well established weedline on the western edge of Deer bay, it runs a pretty good ways. I've caught bass, pickerel and musky along the edge there. There are some pretty productive weed beds on the north side of the lake to the west of three islands as well, fish from three islands west towards the small groupings of rocks/islands. Run north west coming out of deer bay almost to the opposite shore and fish the weeds. Depths run between 5-9 feet. Caught all 3 species there as well. Most of my bass are incidentals there, so can't help you with that. Good luck, its a decent fishery!

Well if anyone needs a spring job done in the KW area, I can reccomend First Class spring and suspension in Breslau. I was tied up with a brake job and serpentine belt on my truck at home and didn't figure i'd have time to replace the springs on my trailer. They did the job quickly and for exactly what they quoted. I was pretty pleased!

Nuisance fish are just part of the package. I catch 4 rock bass to every pickerel in some drifts on our cottage lake. I'm not sure light line makes a difference. I use 12lb fluorocarbon leader on most of my jigging and live bait rods and 15 to 17lb Fluoro leader on my trolling rods depending on what I find on sale.

That pike is massive. 50 or not, it's a lifetime fish! -

One of my leaf springs is done, so I'm going to be changing both out. Looking for a good spring shop in kitchener/ waterloo or even better anywhere north of KW. I know I can get leafs at princess auto but I'd rather deal with an independent spring shop if possible. Time is of the essence, I leave for north bay on Monday. Thanks for input!

Well there you go, I should spend less time watching my rod tip lol!

I don't think so, but then I've never looked into it. I always take an electrical site for charging batteries. There are waterfront sites facing onto restoule, but they are booked way in advance with the occasional 2-3 day blocks available midweek from time to time. I can't recall seeing a boat in site on stormy.

If I where looking at boats, I'd look at starcraft, Lund, princecraft or Crestliner. All have a good track record of building quality boats. There are other brands but those 4 are a good starting point. I have a preference for Lund. I believe I have a pretty good all around boat, a 16 foot 50hp combo. It does a lot of things well with 2 guys in the boat, sometimes 3 can be tough depending what your doing and it's sometimes limited by big water, but I've had it on the main basin of Simcoe and the Great Lakes in good conditions. You could get something similar for under 10k. If your plan is to fish big water or regularly put 3 in the boat then go bigger. Other people have covered the flaws to look for.

Well, the SOLD signs went up last night NF

Congrats on the sale. It is definately a stressfull time. My wife is starting the rumblings again, and I'm not looking forward to it! -
That's why we have rod lockers. I never have any tackle in my truck unless I'm going to the cottage without the boat. Even then it's minimal because I leave some stuff up there for fishing out of the tinny.

Try angling outfitters. He carries xi5 product. If not you can borrow mine so long as you drop it off Friday night, I'm taking my boy out on the weekend. I'm in fergus area.

There is no such thing as 0 percent financing. If you walk in and pay cash you will always get a better price than taking the 0 percent option. No one lends money for free, it is just a marketing gimmick. Very often the cash purchase price is enough to more than offset the financing cost of taking out a bank or credit union loan, because not everyone has 40k in their sock drawer.

Question about jig/plastic rigging weights
porkpie replied to FrankTheRabbit's topic in General Discussion
I overload certain rods all the time. Haven't had one break due to that yet. Your over thinking it.
