  1. Look at the Optima Batteries. The best I have ever run.
  2. For your price range check out Fishing World. They have a nice baitcasting reel on sale for $70 not sure if it comes in left hand though. They also have some Pfluegar reels with a Shimano Convergence rod which would be right in your price range!!!!!!! They have a huge sale going on that ends Sunday so I am sure they could hook you up.
  3. Fishing World in Hamilton has a great selection of tubes give them a call or drop in.
  4. Baits look great. Go with basic colours. For frogs simple white and black will do as you can add glitter to them to help with colour. The craws look great look at the black blue, pumpkin with red and black fleck, brown with copper and red fleck, watermelon red fleck, and again a solid black with different glitter colours in them. The worms look good also and the above colours would be good with the addition of bubblegum, chartreuse, red shad, junebug and white. Keep up the great work.
  5. We are in shock. This is truly a very sad day. Peter was always good to me and my wife. He was a true gentleman and friend. He was always very friendly and I enjoyed every visit to his store. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
  6. That's a really good deal for a portable unit
  7. I believe that the average angler is catching more fish now more than ever. With not just the information available on the net but the technology as a whole. From better rods, reels, lines, sonars, gps, new lures, etc. This has all put the odds better in the sportsman corner. Most anglers have their circle of knowledge also when it comes to fishing certain areas or lakes and when good information or techniques are learned and shared it makes them a better angler and result in more fish caught. On the other hand I also think more anglers are catch and release or practicing selected harvest with the new regs and education about our great fishing resources.

  13. Go to the lining clinics at tackle retailers every year and get line for .01 - .05 cents a yard spooled. Can't go wrong with that price and the line is new. I am going to Fishing World next weekend for their sale and line spooling special for all my reels and that's a lot to get done.

  24. Yes the higher the IM rating is a better quality rod blank. They also have usually better quality guides, actions are more easily varied for specific usage, better sensitivity, etc. Hope this answers your question.
