  1. I always use a mono or flouro leader for abraision resistance, especially when trolling and bouncing my lures off bottom. Too many times I have had clients not use a leader and all of a sudden when trolling the line will break right in front of the lure where it has been banging off bottom. It's a good thing T60 Flatfish float!!!! Oh, and for knots, Palomar, Uni and Back to Back Uni.
  2. This is friggin' hilarious!!!!!
  3. They are a fine beginner reel, you can't go wrong for the price.
  4. Then he should be able to make the neighbour "disappear".
  5. And I've been on the other one. Not sure, but I may even have pictures of it somewhere.
  6. Yep, and if he ever came on my land he would be pushing up daisies!!!!

  9. Four words, Don't Waste Your Money.
  10. Me too!! When I'm teaching a newby and try to show them a side cast I look like an epileptic with fire ants in his shorts!!!! I'm a pull caster and have been for close to 30 years. I am like Mike in the line department. When I lived in Ontario I used 8# Ande but now that I'm fishing bigger flows out west I use 12# Raven in Grey or Green.
  11. That was pretty sweet!!!!! Not good to be a mouse in Newzealand!!!! This ones (Video) pretty good too but nowhere near the $$$$$ that one cost to make.
  12. Yeah they are upside down too. If you need to shim it. The shims go closer to the back of the blade (non cutting edge) as well to increase the cutting angle of the blade. Cut open a pop or beer can and cut strips to use as shims.
  13. Sweet!!!! But aren't they heavy? A bunch of fence wire works good too. At least I know it stops a dirt bike pretty good. Some one had tossed a bunch away on the side of the trails my buddy and I used to ride. That stuff is a major pain to get out once it's wrapped around everything. Just don't forget to take it with you when you leave. Another good one is to pack all the wet snow and slush into a bucket and pack it down. Then flip the bucket over and remove the slug, just like building sand castles. Stick the slug in front of your hole. At the end of the day stick the slug in the hole. The paintball solution sounds good too.
  14. I'm sure this is not the end of season ice fishing sale. It should be on before the end of the month though. Keep your eyes open.
  15. 11 years ago Jan 10th for me.
  16. I hope you're not going alone. Don't want worm dangler to think you're an idiot now. What river are ya doing?
  17. You said it Mike. If I were to wait around for a "buddy" to come along every time I wanted to go sledding, hunting or fishing I would only get out once or twice a year. Being prepared & having common sense are most important. Most of my trips are solo trips and if you use your head and have some basic suppies and survival skills you should come out ok. Crap does happen though and you should be aware of this. Always let someone know where you are going and when you expect to be back (like this unfortunate fellow did) so that if there is an issue help may come in time. I have a 10 day winter camping and snowmobile trip planned for later this month and have all my plans laid out and even including talking with the CO's about ice conditions and trouble spots to avoid. This kind of pre-planning can be the difference between a trip of a lifetime and driving your snowmobile into 1000' of water because of a high current area. I was surprised to find out about 3 dangerous ice areas on the route. It amazes me that in one spot ther is 4 to 5 feet of ice and a couple of hundred yards away it's open water. And this is a lake, not a river. Are there risks? Yep, but being informed and prepared minimizes the risks.
  18. look up Plastics or UMHW in the phone book or online and pick up some UHMW Polyethylene sheet in 1/2" thick and either have them cut it 1" wide or do it yourself on a table saw. Drill and counter sink for stainless bolts and attach it. Same as what you would be buying from clam, only less expensive.
  19. Been a while since I laughed that hard!!!!
  20. Good!!! That dude's burgers SUCK!!!!!
  21. The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration launched a probe of 905,000 Chevrolet Cobalts earlier this year after receiving more than 1,100 consumer complaints, which included reports of 14 crashes and one injury. Just a matter of time.
  22. He had the motor on a little 8 or 10 foot tunnel hull. One of those little pickle fork boats. The thing did like 30 mph!!! It was insane! He sank it several times stuffing a wave or flipping it.
  23. My first boat was a 12 foot tinny with a 5.5 Johnson. Get a 9.9 it was too slow for my liking. One day we did put my buddies 15 Evinrude on it. It ran like a raped ape!!!
  24. WOOHOO!!!!! CROSBY IS A GOD!!!!!!!
