  1. Can't tell you who to use for inet but for home phone I have been using Vonage for 7 years and am quite happy with the service. I don't have the unlimited service as I really can't use up 500 minutes per month so only pay $20/month all local and long distance.
  2. Well if he's not native then I say fry his
  3. Yep, dude looks native or metis to me. Fish may even have been netted.
  4. Last time I was down there we went out with a bunch of different outfits. The only one I can remember was Bud and Mary's Marina. Went off shore with them and caught a bunch of dorado, bonitas and some good sized amber jacks. My bigun was chewed in half by a 12'-14' hammerhead!!! We fished about 14 miles off shore and got our AJ's off a hump out there. Dorado were caught off mats of floating weeds. It was insane!!! there was 8 of us and I took time out to climb into the tuna tower and video the action. All 7 of my buddies all hooked up at once and fish everywhere!!!! We also took trips out of Marathon for tarpon and Key West off shore. We took 2 or 3 trips out of Islamorada with different outfits and did well on each trip. Have fun and post lots of pics when you go.
  5. I could make a fortune. Take a tractor trailer to Brantford and load her up for me will ya?
  6. Not in Yellowknife you can't. 15$ a pack fer smokes here. Good thing I quit in 1999.
  7. Just pick up a Little Chief if you don't want to spend too much $$$.
  8. Lots of pics here.
  9. Been stuck a couple of times with my 1000cc Yammaha and it is a bit of a pain but not too bad to get unstuck. The big torque of these big 4 strokes is very nice. I find it difficult to drive my sled below 15 KMH though. Kind of tough in the tight and twisties. Out on the lake on a packed trail these things are insane!!!! It tries to drive out from underneath you. They are super sweet on long drives too. Very comfortable.
  10. Three words Cold, Brass Monkey. -45 WC here this morn.

  11. Have you talked to the dealer about the issue? I'm sure if you tell them the issue that they can deactivate the traction control for you. If not you can always tell them to take their piece of crap GM back and you will buy a Ford!!!!
  12. Yup, cracked heat exchanger definately means toast. Nothing like carbon monoxide spilling into the house instead of up the chimney where it belongs. I gather you don't have a CO detector in the furnace room?
  13. My guess would be in the $800-$1000 range. More if wheel cylinders or calipers need replacement or rebuilding. Don't know for sure as I do my own work.
  14. If it's slippery enough it will stop you dead!! My dad was driving his Honda minivan into our driveway in central Ontario quite a few years ago. The snow was about 10" deep @ the bottom of the driveway. He got stuck and the trac. control would not let the van even think about moving. All you could hear was the ABS motor running and locking up the wheels. Click the little button (Traction Control Disable) on the end of the shifter and you could drive right out of being stuck. Traction control does work when driving down the road and you hit a patch of black ice but for extreme situations like the OP's it sucks!!!
  15. The first 15 it lived in Ontario.
  16. Still waiting for mine but it does take longer to get here. Canada Post has to transfer it to the dog sled at the NWT border and then to birch bark canoe for the trip across the McKenzie River only to be transferred yet again to another dog sled for the final leg of the trip to Yellerknife.
  17. I've never used mine in the 21 years I've owned the boat. When running my attention is on driving and my hand is always on the throttle. Plus my boat's slow!!! Top end is about 37 MPH and cruise is 26-27 MPH. I always drive for the conditions and slow right down in crappy weather. I definately see their use when running fast boats or seadoos. When running my buddies doos I always wore the tether. I could also see wearing it if you were a newby to boating as you have yet to learn about what can happen out there on the water. Driving my boat I'm pretty mch in a cocoon in the drivers seat. If I got tossed out I would be in some serious trouble as my leggs would probably be still in the boat!!!!!
  18. Not sure what the battery pack is like in this unit but I have been able to remove them or cut them out in other units and use 7-9 mah gel UPS type batteries in my other similar portables.
  19. My first boat was a 12 footer with 5 1/2 Johnson on the back. I used it occasionally on Lake O off Pt. Credit and the Stacks but never over 1 mile off shore and only when the weather was calling for calm and no chance of T-Storms. It did work ok for early and late season shoreline trolling though.
  20. NICE!!!
  21. 21 years here, so it should start acting up any second now.
