  1. Have no idea on age but it does seem to be an old 22. Looks like the bluing is kinda worn though.
  2. If you add some Mercury Quickclean to your fuel it will take care of the carbon build up issue. With my old 90hp 2 stroke I would have to hit neutral every once in a while and give the engine a rev with the high idle lever for a few seconds to clean out the plugs because they do load up and start to foul at trolling speeds. I also kept a few spare spark plugs in the boat just in case I fouled the plugs.
  3. What will that put them up to Jedi? Haven't lived in Ontario for 7 1/2 years now. Our plate in YK are $74/year for cars and trucks, $25/year for trailers, $50/year for the snowmobile.......................................... I have a truck, 3 trailers and a snowmobile for $200/year. You still have plates for life on your trailers or are they charging yearly?
  4. So if you're in Qweebek it's pootsin and in the rest of Canada it's pooteen. PS I would have given the young lady a tip. A nice shiny penny!!! It makes a much better statement than nada. Probably would have left her a note on a napkin as well.
  5. I wouldn't know. The 35 years I have been using Lowrance I've yet to have an issue. I can't say the same about Humminbird though.
  6. I've always heard it pronounced poo-teen.
  7. The difficult part is the syncing. You need the proper tools to do the job.
  8. Best to try before you go out and spend all the $$$ to have the carbs rebuilt. My guess is you have more than one carb. My old 90 Merc has 3 carbs. Gets kind of spendy to have 3 carbs rebuilt and synced. Especially when a gallon of gas and $14 worth of Seafoam may fix the problem.
  9. Run some more Seafoam through it. Use the shock treatment method. 1 can of Seafoam in 1 gallon of gas.
  10. They do look a little fouled. Has it been run only @ idle or have you run it mid to high throttle? It could be a flooding issue if the float is stuck or you have varnish built up on the needle and seat. Have you run any Seafoam through it?
  11. If you have a stuck float you will have fouled plugs. What do your plugs look like after it stalls out?
  12. Luckily it's off the air by the time I get into work in the morning.
  13. I just want to know what happened to Pete & Geets. DOH!!! Just found out Pete died in 2011.
  14. The serial number should be on the motor bracket on the right side when looking from the rear. Serial# Charts Just be aware that the serial no's differ between some countries.USA = 3,4,5,6 O A BCanada 7Europe 9Australia 8 Small OB: http://www.marineparts.com/partspages/techhelp/tech14.htm Large OB: http://www.marineparts.com/partspages/techhelp/TECH15.HTM

  17. I had guests up @ Great Bear that were using some of the lighter duty Down Easter rod holders. We were on a fly out trolling T-60 Flatfish on musky sized gear for big lakers. Part way through the day one of the holders failed and snapped because of the pressure exerted by the large flatfish. The rod disappeared instantly down into 30' deep 40 degree water. I immediately did a big circle with the boat and caught the line with the other rod. A little while later the other rod holder failed in the same way!! I repeated the circle maneuver with the same results!!!! In the space of 2 hours we had two broken rod holders, two lost rod and reel combos and two rescued rod and reel combos. Moral of the story: It can be done!!!!
  18. Terry Trust me when I say it will never be "done". I've had my boat for 22 years and I'm still doing stuff to it. I just ordered new rod holders for it and have a nice Bimini top to install. Still have a mini jacker to install and a 9.9 pro kicker and Trollmaster Pro II to pick up. Break Out Another Thousand
  19. One of the good things about living in the far North is they don't sell any fuels with ethanol in them up here. In the winter it gets too cold and the fact that ethanol absorbs water does not work well in a frozen environment. My buddies in Alaska tell me there's no ethanol in any of their fuels either. Pretty sure Nunavut and the Yukon are the same.
  20. Yeah, Bill Definitely go with the easy lube hubs if you are going to replace it.
  21. Bill You should be able to get one at places other than Shorelander. Need to know the weight rating and length as well as the distance between spring perches. 2000# axles: http://www.princessauto.com/pal/en/2000-Lb-Axles/1100-310-005-005-005.c 3500# axles: http://www.princessauto.com/pal/en/3500-Lb-Axles/1100-310-005-005-010.c And these guys are located in Milton: http://www.cerka.ca/axles.asp The axle replacement is easy. Jack up the trailer, put stands under the frame, undo the Ubolts holding the axle to the spring and lower the axle. Revers this procedure with the new one.
