I just run the Nautilus 1000CCA group 24 battery from CT to run my 115 and depth finders, bilge pumps, stereo and VHF.
The last one lasted 5 years and cost me $120
A 1" long flounder
Clams, Rocks, dead fish, seagulls, fishing rods a couple of times.
Two large lake trout (one 18#'s, the other 32#'s) on one bait.
A 42# laker on top water.
Got her out for some on water testing and break in time for the new engine.
Gotta say I'm pretty pleased so far. Need to do a bit of tweaking to the setup but it's almost where it needs to be.
The Smartcraft gauge with troll control are the cats !!!! With troll control you can vary the trolling speed 10 rpm at a time from 550 rpm to ..................................
You can also set trolling speed by MPH/KPH if you have tricky or wavy cons.
Finally got my new motor all hooked up and gave her a test today to see if it runs.
Click on the image for video.
Tomorrow I plan to get her out on the water for some break in time.
Got the motor mounted and the rigging mostly finished.
Just need to make the connections to the motor, stick on a prop and PDI the motor then I should be ready to fire her up.
Got to admit it looks pretty bad !!!
Right!!!
Got the controls , Mercmonitor gauge and jack plate installed.
Motor goes on tomorrow.
Between the original motor and the transom there was a spacer made of some kind of fiberboard.
Needless to say it was in rough shape after 22 years on the back of my boat.
I replaced it with a piece of 1/2" Lexan that I painted the back side the same colour as the boat.
This should last forever.
Got the jack plate bolted on after installing the Lexan spacer.
Still have to connect the Mercmonitor to my GPS as well as tidy up the console wiring and install some engine sensors after the engine is mounted.
Waiting on steering wheel controls for trim and jack plate from BPS too.
Understatement of the year.
Already have the new controls installed and will be installing the Mercmonitor Smartcraft gauge and Atlas jack plate tomorrow. After that I just have ot mount and hook up the engine.
Another fan of the Remington 870 here.
I have an SPS Camo synthetic stock version.
Unfortunately they no longer make it.
The Express Super Mag Turkey/Waterfowl would be the closest to it now.

I love my Minnkota with autopilot.
Point it in the direction you want to go and it auto corrects when the wind or current blows you off course.
The iPilot would be even better.
No wife to worry about.
They are going on "The Subhunter Too" my 1991 Fisher SV-18-GT that I bought new 22 years ago.
The boat's rated for up to 125hp.
