Out of curiosity what did Minnkota's technical help-desk say when you called them? Believe it or not they are very helpful. They will be able to tell you how to test it and let you know if a replacement 'ducer can be ordered. My TM is pretty easy to remove the 'ducer as there are just a few screws holding it in. I would remove it and then test the wiring for continuity with a multimeter. If the wiring checks out OK it's likely the 'ducer it's self. Call Minnkota first as it only takes a few minutes of your time. I heard their biggest so far is a 26.5. Shallow sand bays rock early in the season, especially if they have in-flowing streams. NAH, not until the second week of October.

Are they regular starting and or deep cycle batteries or the expensive ones? If regular they are flooded. If they are the expensive ones most likely AGM or possibly Gel. Do they have caps you can remove? either 6 that unscrew or 2 bigger rectangular ones that can be popped off with a screwdriver? Pop them off and look inside. See liquid acid? They be flooded.

Not a small tackle company. They are made by Gibbs but were designed by a local guy. They are only available here. You can't even find info on the internet on them. The original guy that made them sold them out of his tackle store (Wolverine Sports) here in YK. A few years ago they closed the doors and the local Canadian Tire bought the patent and sells them now. As far as I know this is the only place that you can get them.

Answer? Fresh Great Slave Lake laker!!! Got out on the big lake yesterday on our Aboriginal Day holiday for the first time this year. It was a horrible day with no wind and a hot sun. It was nice and quiet for a holiday. Got to see a few eagles while out which was nice. There was a nesting pair hiding in these trees. And another adult male here. Took quite a while to find the fish but I did eventually find them. Productive depth was 15 feet and a local spoon called a Wolverine spoon was the ticket. Now the result of a little work. Lake trout with my secret blend of herbs and spices smothered in cheese sauce. Cooked in tin foil on the BBQ. Later this week I'm heading to the East Arm to slam trout and will be cooking this over an open fire. The new 4 stroke seems to be working good at catching fish.

When they raised it to $30 I would have said see ya!!! Anything more than $15 for launch and park is too much. IMHO Most of the lakes I launch on here are FREE!!!! The ones you have to pay for are in Territorial parks and are cheap. The one lake I fish where I launch and park inside the park is $30 . . . . . . . . . . . FOR THE SEASON!!!!!!!! May to September The rest of the year is free. Double concrete ramp with large docks and plenty of parking.

Caddis is possible too though they are usually grey to tan or brown in colour. Mayflies come in many sizes from tiny (.1 inch) to giant (over an inch) depending on species as well. May Fly Caddis Fly

Probably Mayflies. What you're seeing in the evening is called a spinner fall. The mayflies are mating and after mating they die.

We had 30hp Sea Pro's on the boats @ the lodge on Great Bear in the 90's. The only issue we ran into was that during rough water they would occasionally end up with stuck carburetor floats causing the engines to flood out and stall. Was a PIA when it happened as we had to remove the cowl, rap on the float bowl with a screwdriver handle and swap out the plugs to get it going again. This only happened in extremely rough conditions. If you generally don't venture out in 8 to 12 foot waves you shouldn't have this issue. I never had any starting issues over the years we ran them and they trolled pretty well if a little rough but they were older 2 strokes. We were running them on heavy 17' Lund Alaskans and with 2 guests, guide and gear we were getting 19-22 MPH for speed.

You probably have a leaking seal. Most likely the one that seals the shaft of the tilt ram.

I have always used CLR on a sponge to wipe the mineral stains off my OB. Wear gloves, pour a little CLR on the sponge, wipe and then rinse with the hose. Do smallish sections at a time. I usually do the lower unit, then the middle section. I don't let it get on the motor cover.

Mercury offers a 3 year warranty and if you bought it during one of their deals they extend it to 5 years. I would check with your dealer about the amount of warranty left on your motor.

Yep, go to your local car audio installer and ask for some 1/8" ABS plastic. And I too have some but the 11,000 KM round trip ain't gonna happen.

Soft plastics work well for slow retrieve. Also the Silver minnow with a split double tail trailer works well too. The trailer enables you to slow down while giving lift to the spoon. The best thing I have found for inactive pike are flies. I run large rabbit leeches that have a very slow fall rate. It drives the poikes wild!!! This fly Produced this fish in cold water when they wouldn't chase faster baits like the silver minnow/trailer combo
